All Done

I don't have anything to do but prepare meals. The shopping is all done and bagged. Notice I did not say wrapped. I have used gift bags for years and this year
to make us aware of cancer we were given the opportunity
to buy very pretty and sturdy bags and help at the same
time. The bags are pretty enough to use for anything.

My son was doing steak last night so I went over and ate and watched "The Children are Alright" The neighborhood is beautifully lit and it just made me feel good. See Fredo's
review. It is accurate. I brought Ted home some steak and
Italian sausages.

Then, this afternoon there was a neighborhood party and I
went alone and had a good time. The hostess sent him a lot
of delicious things and desserts so I didn't have to
cook dinner.

I want to mention Dottie's book, The Purging of Monica
Campbell. It was so compelling that I read it in one
sitting. It deals with a lot of issues that are hard to
think about like Viet Nam, race, and abuse but it is
such a good book. Try to get a copy.

Relish the Holidays and have fun.

I'm there in spirit helping you prepare those meals.

Being finished all of the Christmas to-do stuff is one of the best feelings. So glad you're enjoying all of it.

It is nice to be through with shopping. I did a lot of it on vacation.

It makes a person so happy to just sit down and listen to Christmas Carols
and have a glass of wine.

I ordered my copy from Dottie but you can get it from Amazon as well.

It sounds as though things are beginning to look a lot like Christmas. We have our Christmas dinner tonight. Holly, Bevan and the girls are coming over to share it with me.,

Kenna is doing great. She is still with her boyfriend . We just saw her yesterday. She came down to meet her ex's girlfriend in Dallas to pick up Taylor, who will be with her for two weeks. This is the first time she has seen him since he went to live with his dad in Austin, so she is excited to have him for the holidays. My mother is also doing better. The nursing home is getting ready to take her off hospice because she has gained some weight and is much more stable. Jim has finished his chemo and radiation and is with his family for the holidays. So, for now, all is at least as best it can be as we end this year.

I am so glad you are able to be with the girls. How is Kenna doing? I
feel as though I know your family from your posts.

Yes indeed...as long as you wear good shoes and your feet don't hurt.

I am so glad that you enjoyed the book. I think it is 260+ pages but I tried to make it flow/read easily. My next book will be longer but it is not a sequel. New character, new storyline. This is a great season because while we cook and bake a lot, we can also have a respite by enjoying other's labors in the kitchen.

I thought you might write a sequel. I was fond of Monica.

I read her book as well and read it VERY quickly!!! It was good. I second your opinion! Glad you are down to just cooking...
