A Day Off

I am taking the day off. Who knows what wonders may happen.
It is raining cats and dogs outside. There are so many
sales on now. Ellie rifled through my mail and took my
J. C. Penny's ten dollar coupon. With my consent because
Adrienne needs new bras.

I am obligated to have pizza tonight. I make it from scratch with lots and lots of cheese and pepperoni, and I
cook it in a large iron skillet. We had bean soup last
night. The one that Laura taught me to make is hot and
spicy.

I need to clean house big time. With all of this painting,
I have just done the minimum.

Catch you later.

Will definitely have to try your dough recipe.

Thank you! I pretty much did the same (Canola oil), but I think I needed more flour. It tasted okay.

I need to put 'cast iron skillet' on my list of things to bring here from Colorado. I have this feeling I brought one here in 2005 and since took it back there, thinking I wasn't going to use it. It's like waves on the beach, my stuff moving back and forth between houses.

Oh oh, you got my pizza craving going! Sounds delicious!

I don't know if Papa Murphy's is in Canada. It's definitely not in Port Alberni.

The old couple who had our house from the day it was built were pretty
bad about leaving dirty finger prints on the walls. Clean is wonderful!!

I like 'clean', it just takes sooo much longer to achieve as years add to me

Wow! I made my first home pizza Thurs. night! In a cast iron skillet! It was delicious, but man did I have trouble with the dough. It was just too gooey. Guess I need more flour? It stuck to everything. But my sauce was great. It was pepperoni and cheese. May be a long time before I try it again.

I use one packet of yeast, 2 tablespoons sugar, flour till it is almost
thick enough then 2 table spoons olive oil. Then add all the flour you need to. I keep the dough a little thin then I put olive oil in the skillet and assemble the pizza. I let the dough rise a couple of hours.
Don't be stingy with the olive oil in the skillet and you will need some
on your hands. I just dump the dough in the skillet and pat it into shape.

I hope you enjoyed your day off!And now I am starving for homemade pizza...maybe tomorrow night.I always seem to get good coupons when I can't get out shopping...Murphy's Law, I guess.

We like the homemade so well that I don't ever buy it.

Now you've got me hungry for home made pizza.

It is the best because when it comes to pepperoni and cheese you can go wild. Papa Murpheys is the next best one. Do you have them in Canada?

I absolutely love artichokes. Applebees is my favorite place to eat
because they have artichoke dip.

I agree with my 'alter ego' - The 'cleaning' fairy, will visit you (as she always does) and sort it all out for you I found out about this one day when I had remarked to my 'youngest' - "put the pop bottle in the rubbish bin, if you have finished with it", as I saw it left on the kitchen counter, "no mum, no need - the 'bottle' fairy, will do it . . . " Then he promptly went upstairs . . . needless to say, the 'fairy' did, put it out ('she', did get her revenge - eventually)

The best I can do is imagine that Ms. Troutbend is coming for a visit.
Then I can clean and organize the pantry. When I am unable to delude myself with this, I will get the cleaning fairy.

Yeah my house has been neglected but I have no reason for it. I have just been lazy... Oh I guess I was sick for a few weeks but I have felt better for awhile now.

Cleaning is the pits. When I fuss about the tremendous amount of laundry we have, I try to remember hanging out clothes and diapers in freezing
temperatures.

I have never made pizza. The other day in a new shop (we are cheating on our friends who operate Pizza Bella) I learned they have an artichoke toppings. Since Ed and I get half green peppers and half mushrooms, I am aching to try the artichokes. I have a $10 coupon for a local store but I'll never get there.

I would adore artichokes on my pizza. I am hungry for them now.

I always 'dread', the aftermath left when the decorating is completed - but, it will sort itself out - it always does In the meantime, clear yourself a space somewhere, sit down and applaud yourself with the new look colour scheme
