Today I made a deal with the devil. It was creepy, but I am sure in the end it will be worth it. There is a lady that lives at the end of the block. She is a do gooder gone wrong. The busy body with one eye on everyone at all times with her lips pressed against everyones ears with the latest assumptions she has come up with. Her father whom I consider a wolf in sheep's clothing lives a couple houses down and her son and his family live across the street to the right. I call her the devil because she does all of this toting a bible at her hip.
I have made it a point to avoid this woman at all costs. We as a family have fell victim to her malicious tongue. There are times when people like this can be put to good use.
There is a dog beater that lives across the street. I have witnessed him kick, punch, choke and body slam his golden lab. The dog was a beauty as a puppy. Now since being beaten to a pulp he is a sickly looking scared dog kept on a five foot chain on the side of the house behind a fence that was put into place after I confronted the beater. It makes me sick! Animal control doesn't care and I even have called the police as he had his dog held up off the ground choking him. No one came.
Now the deal is no one can see this man do this, but me from my front living room window where I sit on the lap top most of the time. Even with the fence, which of course the bored beat dog has ripped to hell, I can see him beat this dog. Do you know how sickening it is to here an animal cry out in pain and there is nothing you can do? The man looks like a cross between a red neck and a skin head. He cleans his hunting rifles on the front porch. He scares the begeaszus out of me.
We were planning on operation free doggie when we move, which will be as soon as we find a new bigger house, but now the beater has gotten a second pup. It is in a play pen sized enclosure in the front yard and looks to be about 9 months old. It is left in there all day and night but seems very lethargic. I was just sick to see this new addition to this mans collection of punching bags, but as it turns out it may be just what was needed.
This dog is not hidden but right out front. The little devil from the corner and her family of demons walk back and forth to each others houses. I have noticed she stops to pet the pup every chance she gets. I seen her today looking at the pup in a concerned way so I made my way outside.
She was shocked when I crossed the street to approach her. She knows how I feel about her because I do not really talk to any neighbors, much less gossip with them, but I have told her to her face what a devil I think she is! I know it is not what Jesus would do, but it put an end to her bothering us.
Anyhow sorry for the ramble. So I walked up to her and shook her hand, it was ice cold like shaking a ice cycle and her eyes glowed red.Ok so I know I am exaggerating a bit, but I think I seen horns throbbing out of her forehead! I told her about my concerns about the dogs. She said she had noticed that this pup was extremely timid and would wet its self when ever she would try to touch it. I told her if she got a chance to get a glimpse on the other dog behind the fence. I told her what I have seen and done. She looked like Crime Dog MaGruff!!!! She looked through and seen the battered dog in a tangled chain reduced to about 1 foot and I could see her wheels spinning!!!! She said she would keep an eye on them and get a hold of her contacts (cops that seem to stop on the corner and talk to her often).
Well I am hoping her investigative skills pay off! Maybe this is her time of redemption since she will finally achieve the goodness that seems to elude her. It also takes the heat off of me. The dog beater knows I am watching now he may notice her whole clan is watching!!!
I am never usually involved any sort of operations to save. I am an on looker, but that dog. I just can not turn my back.
