Well, for a two sentence post, you got a LOT of comments... which reinforces my idea that short posts do best. I missed this show, but I've seen Dr. Oz. He tells it as it is and doesn't mince words.
My mom and I both like Dr. Oz's books. Even DH read two of them (You: Owner's Manual, and You: On a Diet). I found the Owner's Manual (new revised verson of the book) workout DVD at the library, but it's kind of disappointing. It has a bit of weight lifting and stretching, then a cardio workout that's very similar to the "walk away the pounds" workouts by Leslie Sansone (which I really like).
I like Dr Oz. That was a good show.
Randy, to fill in the gaps, what I am saying is that no one who wants to follow Oz's plan can succeed if they don't actually follow it and stay with it. So get the message out there, and basically add "Don't do as I do, do as I say."
I just finished reading a book Dr. Oz co-authored. We all know exercise is good and fat is bad but I was very interested in his looking good theory. Girls, he says that lysene and E are the key to staying wrinkle free and that you should just ignore all that hype about peptides. I immediately went to CVS and bought a bottle.
watched the show yesterday + today... she looks 100 lbs heavier than her magazine cover... but says she's about 40 lbs! agree w/anacoana re: palpatations, insomnia, thyroid, menopause... but she said she's seen several doctors who never brought up the stuff Dr. Oz or Bob Greene were touting. You'd think someone w/all that money would be better informed, advised, and in check!
My weight has ballooned to astronomical numbers since my back injury. It is pure lack of exercise on my part.
I watched that show and think Oprah weighs a lot more than 200 lbs. She looks about 260 to me--I have intimate knowledge of fat--take my word for it. Also, she said she gained her extra poundage by eating a bag of blue corn chips every day. Get real Oprah--you were sneaking in a cheesecake every night. Also, as for weight, there is a definite genetic link--PLUS--she needs to be in therapy, as there are a lot of unresolved issues from her youth that she needs to work through before she can confront her weight problems, and in fact may be part of the big picture (no pun intended.)
Yes I watched her yesterday,Jan.5 about her new resolve to loose that 40 pounds she put back on. What concerns me the most for her is she didn't mention stress, which her heart palpation's and lack of sleep are symptoms of. Also she didn't mention menopausal, also symptoms of her weight/thyroid/lack of sleep. I'm actually thinking of sending her an e-mail about this. I'm concerned for her to doing all that hard cardo stuff carrying all that extra weight. Think about it, strap a 40 lb. bag of dog food on your body and then do those walking and weights etc. Not good..too much stress for the heart.
I Googled his name- did not know anything about him, so I looked him up. Great credentials and he does sound interesting. I will definitely set a reminder to watch him as whatever I am doing on my own is certainly not working.
The weight chameleon, Ms. Winfrey, means well but I am not inclined to follow her on her roller coaster. What I am doing works. She has another problem. It is called "unable to stick with a plan".
hmmmm Sounds interesting... who is Dr. Oz? All I can think of is that movie with Chandler from friends....
