I bought a couple of furnace filters yesterday with my first 2012 dated check. I like even numbers. Filters cost me $74.72 (even number)--expensive, but cheaper for me to self-install than some service technician. I'm one of those "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" types. Plus, I'm fair to middlin' in doing it myself. (I did quit changing truck oil a few years ago.)
My nephew and family from the state of Washington (Blaine, up near Vancouver, Marg), did make it. We all got together last night at his mother's, my sister (Queen B), for supper. He regaled us with his airport stories. What a zoo. He said I haven't changed (in looks) since we last saw each other, 25 years ago! How nice. (He's 41 yrs old) My daughter and fam was also there, so cousins were reunited. Drew is 6'7", my daughter Emily, 5'3". He and his siblings are very tall. Got that from his Dad's side, not ours!
So, it's January. I have no particular feelings about this month, other than it can't get over soon enough. I don't get depressed or anything, but the month does seem interminable. I think it's around the 15-16th that the temperature bottom occurs. Then daily averages slowly creep up. Still, it's a long way 'til Spring. I have received my first seed catalogs. That's encouraging.
Carry on.
