Left Handed Mouse

I'm sure why it pains my right forearm to use my mouse--I'm not on the computer that much. I think it's from two weeks ago overdoing the chainsaw.
Anyway, I'm attempting to use my left hand to maneuver the mouse. Nearly impossible!!

Since I only had two responses to my last post, I figured I'd write another more personal one, the day after.

Winter is upon us--down to 15 degrees this morning. Lucky to hit 25 today, despite the sun shining. Warm up next week is forecast.

Overall, it was a good week. I babysat my grandson one and a half days. He's such a good kid. Still, it upsets my daily routines. I hate being that way. Plus, it adds a little extra stress to my life.

His parents, Nate and Emily, secured the bank loan they were hoping for. Now they can move forward on their house and farm operation. I still have to loan them "up front" money to get things going, but I'm assured they'll pay me back quickly (Apr.).

I notice almost all the college bowl games are on ESPN this year, which I can't get. Perhaps that's a blessing in diguise.
I didn't even turn the television on last night. I would like to watch IU-KY basketball today, but alas, it, too is on ESPN.

Mys sister Barbara asked me if I wanted some grapefruit she bought from the Lions Club. I said "ok, what do I owe you?", thinking she was giving them to me. Not. They were $1 apiece! I had taken 6. Whew! Expensive grapefruit!
I can eat them now that I have quit taken statins (red yeast rice) to lower my cholesterol. Doc says don't worry about it.
I told you I'm not going to Florida this winter, so I can't get them there.

Well, that's enough rambling. I'm off to make some Irish soda bread. I went to Aldi yest. and bought a lot of cheese. Bread and cheese sounds good, esp. with red wine!
Have a good weekend!

Hope your arm heals soon. Yes, good bread and cheese is great with wine for a late night snack.

Had a beautiful day of snowy fog. Drove to the city. It was sunny. Came home, foggy. Went for a run, and came home with frost on my eyelashes.

Are you saying when you're 70, even if your cholesterol is high, it's unnecessary/useless to try to control it? Or does it magically go down on your birthday? I didn't know that. Well, he's got 9 years to go till he's that age, so I guess I'll worry about it then.

It's like the prostate controversy. The operation alone does more harm than having the slow cancer growth. You'll likely die of something else before high cholesterol kills you. It's one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't". And don't take my advice on what to do. G's doctor knows best.

Your sis sold you grapefruit? She needed the six dollars?
comment by tealstar on Dec 10, 2011 2:17 PM ()
She can't say "no" to anything. Told me she bought popcorn which she can't eat (teeth), but would sell it to me "cheap". I told her I had just bought some (a fib at the time--but I did buy some later). Like the grapefruit, I knew it would be expensive. I'm learning.

Anything is good with red wine.
Grapefruit - was it organic?
comment by kristilyn3 on Dec 10, 2011 2:16 PM ()
The bread turned out pretty good. I added nuts to it. Wish I'd added dried cranberries. Bought Edam cheese at Aldi to go with the bread and wine. Yum. Not organic grapefruit (to my knowledge).

Yeah, we knew you were mousing with your left hand, your typing is almost illegible.

My doctor had me taking red yeast rice for a while. Now I am on fish oil.

When I saw your heading, I wondered how you knew the mouse was left handed. Did you see him writing with a tiny little pencil?

And your sister got the tax benefit, too.

I take fish oil daily, along with glucosamine (plus ginger, etc.) My only prescription med is for high blood pressure. I'd like to think they do my body good. I didn't think about the tax deduction part! Thanks!

Maybe you can become a switch hitter.

I'm back with my right arm. I could never become a "switch hitter"! I vowed not to complain about "old age infirmities", but they're hard to ignore.

We just went through a cold spell--temps dipped to 70 but it is warming up today to 82--we are now getting more rain that the rainy season is over!
I had a particularly good week this week--not be goody two shoes but when I do things for other people I get and retain this good feeling--plus had a couple of super meals!!!

Well, you can keep your nice weather down there! I'm loving my bitter cold, windy, snowy mix! (I hate you!) Goody two shoes, eh? Hard to fathom.

I wonder about the red yeast rice too.

Soon as I sell my next painting I plan a forage run at Aldi. I do that selectively, but I always take my ACE Hardware cloth bag with me. When the bag is full, I'm done with shopping. What is red yeast rice and why does it lower cholesterol? Interesting!
comment by jondude on Dec 10, 2011 6:11 AM ()
My Aldi run disappointed me with no soy sauce (for my stir fries). Otherwise, they have what I need. Red yeast rice is a pill that contains a naturally occurring statin that doesn't give one (me) joint aches (more than regular) like Lipator or whatever. I've read where once you get to our age (near 70), cholesterol lowering drugs are unnecessary--even useless. My doctor confirmed it. Google red yeast rice.
