Fredo has inspired me to write this post to end the year with. 2011 was not as mundane as I thought. Here are the highlights of yours truly.
I traveled West, South and East via my Dakota truck.
First to Florida panhandle for two weeks, end of Jan into Feb. April took me to Utah (Moab area) on a "Wilderness Volunteer" work trip. And in October, I drove to New England to sight-see and clean up after Hur. Irene in Vermont on another W.V. trip. Highlights included visiting Fredo and Mike, plus Jondude on the way home.
I golfed all summer on a different course. I loved the change and challenge, and making new friends.
I spent a lot of time with my daughter and grandson, helping on their farm and bonding (babysitting). We also got the ball rolling on their eventual move to my farm. Exciting times ahead! My other 3 children (plus my Honduran grandchildren) also made it home at one time or another. It's always great to see them. I'm a proud papa.
My health was good--blood pressure down, colonoscopy results positive (in a good sense!), stamina great, weight under control, etc.
The only "negative" was a dog bite on the hand.
My father continues to do well, also (age 93).
I tried the dating scene, but that didn't work out. I realized I prefer the solitaire life. I cut back on my TV watching, reading more (piano, too). Got high speed internet! Love it.
There are many details omitted (garden, wood cutting, jogging and hiking, house maintainance, etc.), but in general, it was a very good year. I fully expect 2012 to be even better!! I've got big plans!
Thanks for tuning in. And keep your posts active. I'm interested. Remain healthy and in good spirits. Bless you all.
