Follow up Visit, Hair Appointment, and Sundry

Good Monday Morn, MyBloggerstown:
Well, Friday I had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Punjab(Dr. Whalebutt still being on vacation) stemming from my brief hospital event a coupla weeks ago.  Dr. Punjab has got to be the strangest person on this or any other planet.  He's hyper and has the worst, most obvious rug ever.  He's been practicing medicine in  this town since I was in high school(walking there in three feet of snow, barefoot, up hill both ways) and still has a accent you can cut with a chain saw.
Dr. Punjab (in voice of Apu on speed):  "Mrs. Bugg, yore bluud is too tick.  You cood hab a strook.  We most increase your bluud tinner so you don't hab a cloot in yore bren."
Me (taking a moment to consult my mental "Indian Doctor to English" dictionary and deciphering what he said): "Ok."
Dr. Punjab (waving arms and pacing): "Dis is berry serious."
Me (frightened): "Yes, sir.
He went on to schedule an ecocardiogram rather than a stress test because, in his opinion, a stress test would be too stressful.  Fine.   He also revealed that the MRI showed I had "degenerative  arthritis" in my left sholder.  Swell.  Run a state of the art test that costs thousands of dollars(that I have to pay 20% of) to tell me something I already know.  So he tells me that I must come into the office once a week to make sure my "bluud" is properly "tin".  I pro'lly should comply because  one, he's right about the stroke part and two, he'll likely thrash me if I don't. On the bright side, I have lost 6 lbs. since my last visit. Yay!!.  One small step for Bugg...one giant leap for Buggkind.

So then Saturday I went to Wally World and got my hair done.  My hair was way longer than I usually wear it and it was bothering me so I said to myself "Self, its time to get this shit sheered."  It's a little shorter now than I usually like it but what can one expect with a Wal-Mart haircut.  It'll grow out and I feel  so much better with a new do.

Otherwise, it's been an uneventful weekend.  Kinda chilly and gloomy.  Most of the leaves have been blown of the trees and now they are bare and depressing.  I just keep telling myself only 5 months till I head west (we're looking at April for the move).  During that time I'll be boxing up non essensials and generally de-crapifying.  I gotta travel as light as possible.  I'll keep ya posted on the progress. I've been researching and looking up images of Cow Snot on the 'net.   They actually have multi-storey buildings which surprised me.  I was expecting some dusty cow town with a saloon and a livery stable or some such.  They have more people there (Cow Snot pop.- about 60,000  Devil's Asshole pop. - about 35,000).  They have a symphony and museums and all sorts of neat stuff. Lots of buffalo.  Been looking up physicians, trying to scope out a decent internist, cardiologist, and orthopedist that don't have sirnames that look like eye charts (yeah I know, that's bigoted but what can I tell ya.) and that will except Medicare as payment.  You'd be surprised at how many doctors will not take patients with Medicare.  That's just wrong but what ya gone do? (yep, I know I'm a fine one to whine about discrimination re. my previous statement about foriegn doctors but I yam what I yam.)

Well, I guess I'll go have some coffee, watch the morning news, and take my bluud tinner.
Have a good week, everyone

Years ago when my sister called me to tell me she was moving to WY she said things like: "I'm going to be a cowgirl now. Yahoo. I'm going to have a bucking bronco on my license plate." It was strange to us thinking of living there having grown up just south of it and our colleges were great rivals.

Dr. Whalebutt that is too funny!! I hope you get to feeling better and that they get everything straightened out for you. When do you move? I think you will like it out west and who knows you may find you a cowboy you fall in-love with and he falls in-love with you.

The west is a different world. People actually say "hello" when they meet you on the street.

You will like Cow Snot. The West is wonderful and open and freeing in many ways. Take care of yourself too.
