Waiting

I am waiting for the heat to subside so I can walk tonight.
Did I tell you one of my neighbors had 3 hens in his yard?
Some mean soul turned him in. I kind of enjoyed listening
to them cluck and eat bugs but evidently the neighborhood
watch woman got the city involved.

The girls are growing up. Adrienne (l3) was with us when
we bought Sara's car seat and a woman asked her if it was
for her. The poor child was so embarrassed. It is hard to
believe that she is only l3. She looks twenty. I have them
alternating days now. Ashley is in show choir M.W.F. and
Adrienne has all her activities on Tuesday and Thursday.

I have to put on my walking shoes and hit the road. Teal
would be proud of me.

Chickens serve a purpose. Especially for meat and eggs! Glad you're walking.

Somebody had to blow the whistle.

I'm sure people who've never met Adrienne think you exaggerate when you say she's 13 and looks 20, but she really does, and has such a mature personality to go with it, so poised and self-confident.

Adrienne is so dear to me.

There was a little red hen that was so busy and so cute. It has been so
hot that no one was out but the jocks but now it is cooler there are a lot
of people out.

It has been wickedly hot here, too. Hard to have energy to do much until the sun goes down and the air cools somewhat.

I think your grandchildren are lucky to have you.

Janet, I marvel at your energy and stamina, being mother and father both
to three children. I am so hoping that Julian will adjust to his new
surroundings. Noise is such a killer with these kids.

You're doing great ... When I hear of all the special action kids get now, I am envious. My grammar school did have club activities every Friday afternoon. I joined the swim club and a group of us would walk to the YWCA. I loved it. But what goes on now is incredible. You seem to be a happy Grannie.

I have the time to really enjoy my grand children. They are all so different. They two younger ones are on swim teams and they absolutely love
it. I really don't know how their mother keeps going.

I hope you enjoyed your walk...

It was l02 yesterday but it cooled off enough last night that I was able
to walk. I met a nice lady who had a rescued Malamute and he put on a
big show with his outdoor toys. I also met the sweetest cat who purred
and flipped over so I could rub her tummy.

I am proud of you too! You guys all make me ashamed of what a sloth I have become.

Dottie, my weight got so out of hand last winter that I had to start getting
some exercise. I hope I can continue walking on the treadmill in the
winter but it is so boring that it is hard to stay motivated. I feel so
much better now.

I'm proud of you, too. I heard the weather forecasters saying cooler air from Canada is coming your way. May it be soon!

It is supposed to rain...unbelievable. Maybe the fires will stop . The
heat had returned yesterday but it seemed cooler when I let Rex out. By
the way Mrs. Troutbend's scone recipe got rave reviews from my family.
They said they were twice as good as Panera Bread where they had been
buying them.
