My Take on Christmas

I will always view this time of year with child like wonder.
I am sorry for those who don't because you are missing a heck of a good time. It is a time for beautiful music, frosty nights, hot chocolate and secrets. You have to sneak around and find out what people really want and then try to gratify those desires.

My father used a ruse that nearly always worked. He would ask us to help him pick up Mother's present and then take note of what we liked. He used it on my sister and I and my mother's sisters.

It is always more fun to watch others open their gifts than to open my own. I suspect it is that way for everyone.
my gift wrap is clumsy but my intentions are good. Ellie and Ted pick out the best presents and my daughter the worst because she is so predictable.

Relax have fun and enjoy this wonderful opportunity to make someone happy.

That's a wonderful way to find out what to give someone. You are right in that it's much more fun watching others open their presents. I always hold my breath to see if they like what I've given. Of course, they always pretend to like it ... a LOT! My gift wrap is tissue inside of a gift bag... so much easier!

Jeri no use to tell you cause you already know you were so lucky to have such a great guy for a father.
My childhood Christmases sound like Fredo's.

Have not missed a lot.We never had a good Christmas as a child.
It was the depression years,Dad out of work being on welfare.
This I remember very clearly.
Never had a toy,any kind of toy.
All I had was fruit in my stockings.
That all we could afford at that time.
When you have nine children it is very hard to satisfied them all.
No,do not want you to feel sorry for me.It happened and that is the way that it was.The children today are completely spoiled.
By the media and parents.
Have a Merry Christmas.

I miss our family Christmases--a wife and 4 children taking turns opening presents. At least I don't get maudlin thinking about it.

I am one of those unfortunates who is missing a lot. It's a long story. I will spare you.

I love being able to make someone smile and to express to them how much they mean to me.

I finally figured out why Old Sister sends me such crappy gifts. Where as I send her gifts I think she would like, she sends me gifts SHE would like. Oh well, it's the thought that counts.

I got Donna what she wanted! Then I spent an hour in Walmart by myself yesterday and got a few more things that she doesn't know about yet. I was fun, although I'm one of those weird guys who likes to shop anyway. It's a fun time of year. Then the days start getting longer and spring is on the way! Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays, if you prefer)

I do love watching people open what I got for them! But I love opening gifts as well so... it's a toss up in my world!
