My Summers

I love summer. Heat is much more pleasant that cold. I
get out early and do errands. This morning I went out to
the base and did big shopping and was home by ten.

The shouts of our next door neighbors grandchildren when
they jump in the pool, and the teeny little kids playing
on the baseball field behind us are pleasant. About
nine in the evening it is perfect on the back porch and
I can enjoy a glass of wine and music and watch Rex romp
around the back yard.

When I was younger, it was going to the lake and swimming
and listening to the music float across the water and
flirting with all the guys. We used to go to go to Grand
Lake and dance. Such fun memories.

I haven't had a convertible for years but I find myself
missing one. Riding with the top down when the temperature
is right just cannot be beat.

Walking down the driveway this afternoon, my heart skipped a beat because it was such a pretty day, perfect temperature, flowers in bloom, birds singing.

Sounds like quite a pleasant time for you!
I remember asking Ron to put the top down when he had a convertible and regretting it the whole time because even tho the AC was on and the wind was blowing we were SO HOT it was unbearable. I never asked for that again, and he traded in the car.

convertibles are at their best at night when the breeze is cool. I think
Virginia on the Potomac is too steamy to get the full effect.

What a lovely picture this paints. You triggered a lot of memories too.

I see a lot of old men driving convertibles and I know they are trying to
remember all the fun they had when perhaps they couldn't afford one.

I have promised myself that I will have ONE more Mustang convertible before I hed "up yonder." I'll take summer over winter anytime. Some great memories of past summers.

There you go and the sounds of laughter from the children frockling in the pool.Flirting you, never did flirt and not sure how to.Maybe should have taken a course in flirting.
How is Ted my man doing there?

flirting is an art form. I have probably forgotten how to by now. Ted
is going to start small and try a little exercise.

I know what you mean about convertibles. Some friends visiting late last year had just bought one and came by and drove us to a fancy lunch and I felt like I was sixteen, with my small mop of hair blowing in the wind.

Florida is perfect for convertibles. They make you feel young all over again.
