Ted and I watched a very good western with Stacy Keach and
his brother James playing Jessie and Frank James. We both
wondered why so often Stacy Keach is not given any recognition or even mentioned in film credits. I guess most
people know him best as Micky Spillane's Mike Hammer
Ted and I think of him as a great actor. I was so curious
that I googled him and found that he came from a family of
actors and has received a number of awards. The New York
Times hailed him in a review as being the best actor since
John Barrymore. He is a noted Shakesperian actor and made
his broadway debut in l969. I am not going to repeat wickapedia but he has also written and performed Jazz
compositions.
we don't think he has gotten the recognition he deserves.
Is he shy and doesn't want the film credits on movies where
he plays a major role? In this day and age his modesty
is refreshing. I remember a time when he was caught in
customs with, I believe, a smidgen of marijuana but that
shouldn't be held against him. He doesn't look like a
matinee idol but he looks like a real man. This puzzles
me. What is your take on it?
