Porch Dreams

image

Maybe it's Garden Dreams. Here is my back porch, taken last June. I love sitting out there with a cool drink, watching the goings on at the elementary school behind us, with the fan stirring gently stirring the air.

From this angle, you can't see the holes that Rex digs in the yard. He has adapted well to moving to the city from the country where he roamed free. I recently read about a study by a university vet hospital where they were looking for golden retriever subjects to study because this is one of the most adaptable dog breeds - they can be couch potatoes, or outdoor adventurers, whatever their owners need them to be.

Every spring brings hope for the beauty of summer. We've had such a dry winter, I don't know which of my plants will make it through.

This being a very snowy, crazy cold Groundhog Day, the sight of your lovely porch is like a warm, wonderful dose of sunshine! Thank you!

What a beautiful place. You have done well with it. It looks like a plantation. Hugs to Rex.

Rex thrives on hugs. You can't get too loving with that dog.

What a lovely spot you have! Having once lived next to an elementary school, however, I'd pass on that part. Of course, at the time, both my kids went to the school, so it was great for them.

Rex loves having the children come to the fence and play with him and the
green space is a plus for us.

Your porch is beautiful!!! LOVE IT! If we ever get a dog, we want a golden retriever. So far, our lives have been too unsettled. Perhaps that's just the sort of breed we need!

It is a fight to the death with our climate to keep plants blooming that
will stand the hot dry climate.
