A Month of Love

That is how I always think of February. So many significant
days are on my calendar. Bobby's birthday is the 8th, Valentines day the l4th, Our 27th wedding anniversary is the
l5th and Ted's birthday is the l6th.

It has me musing about the different kinds of love. The
fierce protective love for a child and the gentle quiet love
you have for a marriage partner and the love for all creatures
great and small and the friends we love and cherish.

Love makes you vulnerable to injury. Your children are hostages to fortune. We weep bitterly for pets who have a
short life span. Marriages dissolve. I wouldn't have it
any different. We all know prickly, self protective humans
who are too defensive about being hurt to love with their
whole hearts. They miss the sadness but never know the joy.

Love is never wasted.

I agree it would be lovely to have the occasional chat with the departed loved one of our choice. I have a list of questions to ask my dad, but if I really got the chance to ask him, I'd forget them and talk about something else, and then later I'd think of that one really important question. I don't think I'd like to run into my mother for that chat, because most likely she'd be grumpy or disappointed in me.

Wouldn't it be great if we could talk to a dearly departed one on their
birthday. My first conversation would be with my Dad.-

Goddess Teal's plan is scary unless future levels allow time for lots of naps! When a person can realize that all things are temporary they can appreciate the present.

In my fantasy, anything is possible. You want naps? Done. Did you ever see the movie "Defending Your Life" -- in it those recently passed are in a limbo place where they can eat wonderful things, not gain weight, but they also go before inquiry boards to say why they should be allowed to go to "the beautiful" place. I appreciate the present like crazy. My scenario is about never being cut off from those you love. They're in a different place and you get to be in touch maybe once a year on their birthday. I'll have to think that they "graduate" whenever everyone they knew on earth has joined them. Maybe it's a movie.. Hey Steven Speilberg, you are missing a good bet here.

I appreciate the present and relish the past as well. There are memories
that I cherish and relive from time to time. But I am not telling.

Those who choose to be alone because of the pitfalls aren't all that happy. They turn into curmudgeons and they don't even know why. I thought of a better plan (if I were God). Everyone chooses when they pass to the next level -- it is not a mystery because those who go can continue to communicate with those still behind. That way all love connections are maintained and the earth does not overcrowd. Animals included.

Your plan is excellent. There has to be a provision for animals. Some of
my pets were extraordinary but then all of us think our pets are the best.
