Being N Ormal

There may be such a thing as normal but I wouldn't know how
to define it. Our life right now is abnormal and that is
easy to define but I think we are getting used to it. I have
been spending a lot of time with my son and finding items to
make him more comfortable. His diet is limited and I cook
things he likes. Oddly enough it is high carb so he can
really go to town on pasta and sweet things. He has lost a
lot of weight. It is truly a "one day at a time" ordeal.

I am enjoying watching the Republican candidates destroy themselves. It has gotten so ridiculous. Can Mit Romney
buy the Presidency? I guess we will have to see. Newt,
once disgraced, sporting his newest wife, is trying for
the brass ring and the deplorable Santorum with his
antipathy to birth control leaves me speechless.

Reading keeps me entertained. I just finished Rescue by
Anita Shreve. It was good. I have a whole bag of books
to go through in the next two weeks.

Ted is about finished with his course of chiropractic
treatments. It got rid of the nerve pain but he really
needs back surgery. He has very little balance and it
hurts him to walk. He has an appointment with my internist
on Feb third and we will go from there.

This has been a much warmer winter than usual so I have
been able to get out and walk a lot. I am grateful for
that and grateful that Bobby has good health insurance, a
disability policy and a healthy wife and children. My
daughter says that she has clients whose cancers are not
treated because they don't have health insurance, so they
just drink. Just another reason to write our congressmen.

I admire your resilience through all of this. I think our health insurance situation is finally under control, at least for the time being. Getting cancelled in December was a blessing in disguise.

I'm so glad also that Bobby has good health insurance and disability. It is still amazing how many people have no insurance. Our country is the only civilized nation still without universal health care. It angers me every time I think about how the ignorant neo-cons fight against health care for everyone.

I must stop doing that. I read the posts and then don't leave comments. I read this a few days ago. It is so sad that some people do not have any type of health insurance. It makes me grateful for my VA coverage.

So good that your live near Bobby and can offer support in many ways. What a blessing that is. How I wish I lived closer to my brother and sister-in-law. Sylvia is going through more brain radiation and things are difficult and exhausting. More chemo is next. I keep close tabs by phone, but it hurts not to be nearby. Say a prayer, Jeri.

Cancers not treated due to not having health care coverage?!?!? Disgusting!

And to think they also have children with cerebral palsy!

I am hoping for a more balanced life for all of you, less stress and worries. don't forget to take time to care for yourself while you are caring for everyone else.

I am taking care of myself and I have a naturally optimistic nature. He can't start chemo until the surgery heals.

Bobby is bound to do well because he is surrounded by so much love.
In viewing the Republican field, I opined to Ed that if I had to make a choice, I would rather have a sort-of financial crook (Romney), than a religious nitwit (Santorum). As for Gingrich, he doesn't have a focus, other than himself. Maher described him as having a narcissistic personality disorder -- he gave clinical examples, then paired them with quotes from Gingrich's speeches.

I think it is funny that they are squabbling and getting personal and airing
dirty laundry. It is all going to help Obama in the long run.
