More Mother Nature

It came a doozy of an electrical storm last night. I don't think that I had ever seen such lightening. It crackled from the skylights and windows and scared Rex nearly to death. He came and woke me up and I had to spend an hour soothing him.

I don't know what it did other places because I haven't watched the news today. It is rainy and cool but humid. Celeste and Red have a cellar and we are invited to use it but I had to go to the cellar so mu ch as a child that I am not inclined to do it unless under dire threat.

I bit the bullet and bagged up winter clothes today. They seem disgusting in the hot summer time. All those sweaters and sweats.

Ted went to the Dr. today. He is having a lot of tests, but the Dr. told him he thought all the problems were due to a much enlarged prostate. It was a great relief to us both.

Houses are just springing up for sale in the neighbor hood where we want to move to. Ellie called me last night to tell me about more for sale just around the cornor from her.
I am not looking until we get a contract on this house. Our house is an open plan and I don't want it again. I want a formal entry and a formal dining room. I am going to hold out this time for what I really want.

Bye for now. Jeri

Did Ted's doctor recommend "saw palmetto" for the prostate problem?
It is an over-the-counter remedy that shrinks the prostate. Ed
says it is a miracle-worker. It works for most guys, but
sometimes not. Ted should ask his doctor about it. No
side effects. Ed is a strong believer in entryways so that the
entire house isn't exposed. He loves ours. It has two arches,
one into the kitchen and family room and one into the living
room. People down here don't have living rooms as we used to.
The family room is the thing. Ed still loves large living rooms
and has a lot of antiques so that's where they are. Keep looking
for what you want.

We've had three days of horrible thunderstorms and high winds. Yesterday was another day with 70 mph winds and it knocked a tree down on a friend's lawn. It was a 100+ year old oak, but had a huge hollow area. She's hoping the township will take care of it since it's in the area between the curb and the bike path. I hope so for her sake because she told me she has a $1000 deductible on her homeowner's insurance. If not, I may try to think of a fund raiser to help her out. Gertie is like your Rex - terrified of storms. She's had enough doggy valium to knock a horse out. She'll likely need more today.

It's a buyer's market, so you get what you want. I just posted a blog on our weather. It's bad everywhere!

It seems as if your weather is staying pretty bad! I'm glad you're holding out for the home with features you want. It will be relatively easy with so many homes for sale these days. You may get a bargain!

Good for you! If you are going to sacrifice the farm, you should at the very least have the house you always wanted. Good luck!

It is so very humid here but no showers or storms the past several days only a few clouds now and then. Glad to hear that Ted's doctor's visit was a relief.

At least the storms took this terrible wind with them.

we had three bad days of cool weather and rain.
They tell us the weekend is going to be hot and humid.
It is seemed that we have an Omega block here.
Very cool and trying not to used up my oil.
Have you heard all the bad news today and it is going to get
worse.

Sorry about all the storms... I think they are everywhere! It's quite disturbing.
