Lazy Summer Sunday

It seems impossible that the summer is one third gone already.

This day has been cool and pleasant and I have not done much that was worthwhile. Ted and I went to the movies and saw Heat. We thought it was delightful. Then I came home and found The Color Purple on which I am ashamed
that I never watched. It was very good but mercy it was
soooo long! I am movied out.

Bobby cooked out last night and I brought enough food home with me that lasted all day today so I had no
cooking to do. Instead I painted a little and read more.
I brought home two novels by Jodie Picault and both deal
with very original themes that provokes a lot of thought.

Our internet service has been down for a while and I am
thinking about changing internet providers. It seems to
go down every day and this last time was out for a day and
a half. I have Vonnage so when it goes my phone is gone too.

I'm glad I have my smart phone in case the Internet goes down. That would suck!!! I want to see heat!

We will need a lot of tin cans and string if internet providers don't shape up. I've found I can't live far from the city, needing the internet for work.

Internet going down is sooo annoying! We switched providers a couple of years ago b/c of that problem. The upshot: we still lose the service occasionally, just not as often.

I think I read the book before I saw The Color Purple movie and liked the book a lot. The movie got so much hype because it was a Spielberg movie, and that might have put some people off. Then, a big fuss was made because Oprah was in it, and I think all that distracted from it at the time.

It's hard to know what to do about utilities, knowing when to switch to a new provider, because the bottom line is that they all have drawbacks in one way or another.

It was an amazing movie.

Never watched The Color Purple. My heart's in the right place, don't need to watch tragedy and angst over and over to vote the right way. "UP" is what I want in movies these days. Lucy in Peanuts says "Ups!!! All I want is UPS!!! That's me.

The Color Purple was absorbing and not all tragic b ut there was very little
ups. If you get a chance see Beloved. It is a very different movie.

June has flown by, a very busy stressful month for me.
Hoping for a calm, peaceful July.

we just changed our internet plan , was paying $80 a month for 100gigs bundled with our home phone , we don't use the phone much , Cath uses Skype. The new plan is still $80 but now includes unlimited broadband plus free phone calls to local --mobile --and international-- the line rental alone is $40 month .
have had only one outage with telephone and that was only for 6 hrs

I am a big phone user because I am always consulting with my children and
my daughter lives in Tulsa. I pay thirty five dollars a month but I keep
getting better offers.

Summer may be 1/3 over by the calendar, but it's half over here.
