rex is not like any other dog we have ever had. He has a lot of strange phobias. He won't walk on black and white tile and now that Ted has an aluminum ramp in the backyard, (which is butt ugly) he is not going to accept it
either.
I tried to coax him to walk down it but it made him nervous
and upset. Rex is totally sweet and loveable, he watches us
all the time for clues as to what is going to happen next. I
spray myself with off and he immediately gets ready to go
outside. I take a shower and he thinks it is time to go to bed. I pick up my purse and he knows that he is going to
be left alone.
He prefers to have company in the back yard for all things,
including his supervised pees. Except that he won't pee in
front of Ted and I have to be the one to take him. He
won't eat in front of Ted either.
His behavior is not unlike that of my autistic grandson.
Except that Rex is always loving and sweet. After he eats,
he comes to me smacking his lips and expecting praise.
He has to be told what a good boy he is for eating his
dinner. This is totally my fault since he has picked up on
the fact that cleaning up his plate pleases me.
He is outraged if another dog walks past the house but he
would probably lick an intruder to death. He leaves a lake
of drool on the kitchen floor while waiting for his morning
treat.
He is one of my two all time favorite dogs.
