Finally Rain!

The rain blew in last night on the heels of big thunder storm. It didn't last long but enough to help the lawns
and cool us down.

Ted and I went to the painting class yesterday. I put the
finishing touches to my painting that our teacher diotated
and in my opinion it was better before I fixed it. She is a huge fan of burnt umber.

We are really looking forward to our cruise but I didn't think about it being hurricane season. We don't mind
a bit of rough water but no hurricanes please.

Rex was terrified as he always is of storms but he is enjoying the cool weater today. 85 is supposed to be our high.

I found Dottie's website to order her book but when I clicked on it nothing happened. I will try again later
Dottie.

Another cruise?! I need to start planning for a major "vacation"--bucket list type. I have ideas, but no definite plans. When do you go?

The middle of September, destination Bahamas. When I get to my bucket list, it will be the Med. cruise. They are leaving from Galveston now but we hate to leave Rex for two weeks.

We are actually driving in rain right now. I hope it travels down to VA! We'll hafta discuss dotties book once we read it!

I picked up "The Hour I First Believed" at the library so we can review both books at once.

RAIN RAIN COME AGAIN , you bewdy ----we have had thunderstorms with plenty of aqua , some parts flooded this last week , rain has been above average at last throughout the country, and we are hoping the long drought is broken at last. Water restrictions have been lifted, now i can wash the car

I am glad you are getting rain too. We just got a tiny bit to tease us and
I am watering as usual.
reply by elderjane on Sept 5, 2010 6:10 AM ()
Could have used some of that rain here. Last night the weatherman was showing us how yesterday's cold front was going to go across the country (not as far south as you) and push Earl out to sea.
comment by troutbend on Sept 3, 2010 4:28 PM ()
We had such a wet spring but I guess we are paying for it now. It did push Earl away. I don't think we could stand another Katrina.

Burnt Umber! I think you have the same teacher I had at age 12 when I took oil painting lessons.
comment by nittineedles on Sept 3, 2010 12:06 PM ()
Our teacher is old enough to have taught both of us. I am so sick of hearing, "Stop being afraid of the dark." and all about cast shadows.

We have had a lot of rain but fortunately, missed hurricane Earl completely. Try the link for the book on my MyBloggers page under 'My Bookmarks'. If that does not work, I will send you a copy.

I got so excited thinking about your book. your reply is above.

Yes, the rain was a welcome relief and it has cooled off. We need MORE!! When are you planning on leaving on your cruise? Definitely might want to keep an eye on those storms.

We are leaving in two weeks. It wasn't too smart to book in hurricane
season. The year Katrina hit, we were on a ship in October and the water was still rough. We are good sailors but people were throwing up all over
the ship.
