What a Difference a Day Makes

I really don't like talking about aches and pains but yesterday Ted and I both were miserable with arthritis
pain. It dawned on us that we hadn't been taking our Aleve.
We take the generic naproxen sodium. We took two last night and two this morning and we are almost pain free. We
had no idea how effective it really is.

I have stocked up for the cruise on dramamine, immodium and naproxen sodium so I feel we are ready for almost any eventuality. I don't expect to get nauseated but it is
hurricane season and an ounce of prevention makes me feel more comfortable.

This has been a lazy, lazy day. I sayshayed around in my gown until noon and then got dressed and went shopping for drugstore items and groceries. It was nice to sleep late too although Rex always puts his cold nose on me when he wants to go outside. I can't seem to teach him that Ted
is available in the mornings too.

I am looking forward to reading Dottie's book. If we buy now we can get first editions. I got a lot of books at the
library but can't seem to get settled down to read. I
painted a larger size of the flower painting and like it so
much better than the one I did in class. I am going to
choose a really simple landscape for my next class. I would
like to paint the photo of the canyon that loose robes put
on Laura's blog but it didn't come out very well when I
printed it out.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend.

I took Aleve for back pain once. I must have an Aleve resist gene. It helped not at all. Nor Tylenol. Tylenol with codeine helped but it is constipating (big time) so I didn't do that again. As for lolling or sashaying, my phrase is "vegging". I always feel guilty when I do. And even though I spent the morning organizing paperwork -- bills/filing/undealt with solicitations -- instead of walking, I feel I have wasted the morning. Oh s... It's hot and muggy again after two lovely days. Another trick.

'Sashayed?" I had to smile reading that. From now on, that is how I will refer to those days when I refuse to get dressed before noon. Sounds so much more elegant and defiant than 'lolled around' or slouched.

That is one of my grandmother's words. I like it too.

MAybe Rex has learned that you are more responsive? That made me laugh though...
I am glad you have some relief from your arthritis!
I think it's funny that you call a lazy day a day that you are out and about. When I have a lazy day my only movement is from the couch to the fridge and back...

Rex is a spoiled brat. I have to watch re-runs of Boston Legal for 2 hours on Sunday nights. I absolutely love that show because it has some of
my favorite actors in it. Rex spent the whole two hours pestering me for
attention.

Today was lazy for me, too. I sat on the bridge so I could watch the river and read a book. I'm the one who provided the photo of Zion Canyon to go with Steve's post.

I didn't know you had taken that amazing picture. I absolutely love it
and wish It had come out on the printer in that wonderful color. The motorcycles probably made the day less peaceful.

It has been a lazy day for me too. I can tell immediately if I don't take my Aleve. I understand exactly what you are saying. Sunday is almost gone. It has been really windy today. Yesterday was so nice. Enjoy the rest of the long weekend.

Holidays are not nearly so nice after retirement, except for Christmas and
Thanksgiving and they are always special.
