The Girls and Silly Bands

You probably don't know what silly bands are unless you have
children. Someone has made a mint making different colored
rubber bands in shapes to wear around your wrist. Collectors want them all. Why couldn't we have thought of it? You get maybe l0 or l5 for 2.59. Being a doting grandmother and having the girls all day, Adrienne and I went to pick up some jeans that were being hemmed and then went to Michale's and Tuesday Morning. I bought a package for her and for Ashley. They were thrilled with the silly
things, Adrienne especially since one of hers turned out to
be a purple rhino. Who would ever have thought it?

We really enjoyed the girls today. They are both very happy in school and they are sweet and loving.

I want to know why when you buy petite s (short) pants that they have to be taken up two inches. Very rarely do I get
a pair that is short enough. I don't sew so it elevates
the price by ten dollars. We need sizes like men have with
a waist and length. Ours are never altered free either like
guys are no matter what the store. I just thought I would
throw this small rant in.

That is one of those unanswerable questions- why are women's clothing and alterations more expensive if men's clothing is in fact, more difficult to assemble??

Rubber bands? Colors? What do you mean rhino? The band is shaped like a rhino? Really out of it here. Meanwhile, about alterations, yes, it sucks. As a 5 ft. person, who recently discovered I have lost a whole inch and am now 4 ft. 11 Inch. (oh, crap), everything has to be shortened. And until junior petites were invented, no dress ever fit me. And when I got to New York, I was back to square one, because there are no junior sizes sold in New York, where they worship the 6 ft. tall fashion model, preferably Italian. #@#$%$ xx, T.

No, they don't. They have petite, medium and tall and petites also come in short and tall but petite short is too long.

Landsend will hem pants for free, but that only works if they have the pants you are looking for.

Thanks Laura. I didn't know that. Your cold front combined with Hermine brought us some rain.

I like your rant and I totally agree!!! They like to charge us more mostly because we'll pay for it. I think a man would just cut the bottoms off of his pants and go on with life, while that is something women generally would not do!
Silly bands.... MAN are those things the rage!!! And what a modern grandmother to know that!

I keep up with the middle school set. Last year it was skinny jeans and
plaid tops. As for the way they size men's pants, I can go buy jeans for Ted and know they will be right because they go by waist measurement and length measurement. They certainly should do the same for us.
