Decency

Where has decency gone when a Baptist Pastor can urge his
congregation to invade a funeral of one of our fallen heroes and flaunt terrible signs. It is bad enough to lose
a loved one, much less to have people using death to advance their own creepy agenda.

I loathe war and feel that George Bush gave us two who were
totally unnessesary. However the least we can do is honor the poor souls who gave their lives for what they believed in.

Saddam is dead and Osama Bin Laden is still at large. What
has been accomplished? A lot of people are dead and their
countries are in ruins.

Let's just bring our American boys home and let the middle east fight like they have been throughout history. In the
meantime let's at least be civil to one another.

The troops should be brought home.

It certainly will be a landmark case just as Jondude pointed out.

This is a landmark case. I would hate to be a jurist and decide on this one, although my distaste for the protesters is huge. The Constitution makes no distinction about cases like this. Freedom of speech is difficult to define these days. Personally, I don't believe that acrimonious protest is "speech." But that's just my opinion. Go Supremes!

This and that ignoramus in Florida who was going to burn the Koran make me ill.

I'm very curious as to how the Supreme Court will vote. As loathesome as it is, I wonder about the freedom of speech. It's sort of like what a student can say or wear in school. We'll soon find out.

It makes me feel a supreme distaste for anyone who abuses their freedom
of speech.

I hate to be repetitive, but this is a religious man inciting such horrid behavior. Our boys deserve better.

Perhaps they should ask themselves what Jesus would have done. I doubt that he would have been so unkind.

I think these are cold and callous people. How dare they trample upon the personal grief and pain of the survivors? These types of demonstrations victimize innocent families already struggling to cope with their loss. I wish this was illegal. This behavior, while not criminal, is indecent and does victimize the friends and family of the deceased. It should be illegal.

You are l00 percent right Dottie. I think it should be illegal.

These people who are going to the funerals of our fallen boys should be arrested and thrown in jail. I abhor war; it rarely accomplishes anything anymore. The people in the Middle East have been fighting one another since Biblical times. We are not ever going to effect any lasting change over there. A lot of young men and women are dying for nothing; but they at least deserve to be honored for their service to our country.
comment by redimpala on Oct 6, 2010 6:46 PM ()
They should be honored and brought home. Nothing has changed but a lot of
misery and death for the civilians caught in the cross fire and for our soldiers who are fighting and dying and sustaining horrible head wounds and
the loss of limbs.
reply by elderjane on Oct 7, 2010 7:32 AM ()
Yeah it annoys me that people are so disrespectful of those that gave their lives for their country. It's the ultimate sacrifice and they certainly deserve to be honored!
comment by kristilyn3 on Oct 6, 2010 5:36 PM ()
I can only imagine the grief those parents and loved ones feel and to have it made more horrible still is unthinkable.
reply by elderjane on Oct 7, 2010 7:34 AM ()
It's depressing. I can't even think of anything to say.

Things never seem to get better, do they.
