A Chill is in the Air

I p0red rain yesterday and all night last night. I lit a fire
in the fireplace to dispell the gloom a little. A wood fire
makes me feel cheery and cozy. I have a lot of books to catch
up with and it is a good day for that.

Normally, I would bake but it is so important for Ted to lose weight that I can't tempt him. Not that he is eating much
anyway. I made some chili and he barely touched it.

I got the house cleaned to an extent but there is always much
more to do.

Thursday night, Sara Adrienne and Ashley for dinner. It was
very refreshing, also Ellie and Adrienne's friend Allison.
I had Sara take a plastic sheet along in case the baby comes
in the car. She plans on working right to the minute but is
having Braxton Hicks contractions. She is so tiny that I
am afraid she will have to have a Ceasarian.

I stumbled over Rex last night in the dark and cracked my head
very hard. I thought I would have a black eye but I don't.
I have a new battery in my flashlight now.

I don't want to gloat but O. U. certainly kicked the
pants right off those Texans.

Rex is just so big...even for a Golden Retriever. He is mad at me and
sulking because I made him stop digging in the wet dirt and had to wash
his paws.

I was cheering for your Sooners yesterday — Yay! Good to know you got some rain. How welcome that must be! Very good to hear that Ted is getting some relief from the chiropractor. May that continue. I hope you aren't too sore from your stumble. My kitties think I can see them in the pitch dark. I haven't tripped over them seriously, and I am careful, but I do keep a little light on now at night. Sending good hopes and wishes to Sara — Braxton Hicks contractions are the beginning. When is her due date?

Sara's due date is ll-ll-ll and she is determined that little Owen is going
to arrive right on time.

We are just so grateful for the rain. You've heard the expression, "do something even if it is wrong". I think just taking some kind of positive
action and getting a lot of rest is important.

In my young life, I dated a chiropractor. I was 19, he was 32. We nearly got married, then he came to his senses. It was a break for me too. He was very controlling. He used to adjust my neck and spine and I learned how to crack my neck and I could make adjustments to others as well. It's in knowing when the subject is totally relaxed by sensing this with your hands, before applying the pressure. I am glad Ted is getting some relief and hope this therapy is the answer.

Ted is already getting some relief from the pain. His blinding headaches
have stopped and at the very least some of the pain in his back has gone.

Go Sooners! I'll bet you are all pretty happy that the rains are back. I can't believe the plight of the south parts of Texas!

The rain was so welcome. I pity the farmers and the animals. Most cattlemen
have had to sell off huge herds and have lost lots of money.

Did they ever give a name to what is ailing Ted? Must be very frustating and worrisome.

I don't know nuthin' 'bout birthin' babies Ms. Scarlett -- so I don't know what Braxon Hicks contractions are.

All the discs in his back are compacted and rubbing on his nerves with the
exception of two. I always thought Chiropractors might damage his spine worse, but I was dead wrong. After two visits he has had a few pain free
minutes. He will go every day for the next two weeks, then the Dr. goes
elk hunting so he may have more after the Dr. comes back. The treatment
involves moving the bones so the nerves have room. He uses twenty seven
pounds of pressure on the compressed discs to move them over. We now have
some hope.

How bout them Sooners!!!
I used to call Braxton Hicks contractions "Briggs and Stratton" contractions. It got on Jennifer's nerves. LOL
Isn't the weather lovely today? I could stand a whole week of this.

Aren't we proud! It looks like a championship team now doesn't it. I even
walked in the rain Friday night.

you have to be more careful there Ms.Jerri that is not good falling at your age.Sorry,to hear that Ted is not making any progress?
You guys are going to be okay for your cruise?
Really do not like the sounds of this.
Take care and be more careful.Stay away from the cantaloupe?
I hear that parts of OK has this problems.
comment by fredo on Oct 9, 2011 1:11 PM ()
The cantaloupe have been tasteless here because of the drought so I am not
tempted. We insured the cruise but Ted is sure he can go, even in a wheel
chair. Fredo, I blacked my eye. I got p this morning and it is purple.
Ted immediately put a new battery in my flashlight.

That's scary about you falling and knocking your head. Be sure to take a plug-in nightlight on your cruise.

I am getting more sensible about not navigating in the dark.
