Aftermath

Several days after my love affair with Peter’s fender, I am doing okay. My leg is working and I am not limping and I have returned to some ballet routines. But I feel really exhausted most of the time and when I try to do stuff other parts of my back start hurting that weren’t hurting before.

I rescheduled my back scan for Wednesday. I am, seeing the physical therapist tomorrow, if I can find the place. The map I Googled was totally inconsistent with what they told me on the phone. I’ll have to call again. I also find it annoying that small streets are not identified with the street name. I like to anticipate turns since it is easy to roll right past, but you can't do that if the approaching streets aren't named.

My bff, Nadine, came by with Toni, another of our lunch friends and Toni brought flowers and a card. We sat on the pool deck as it was just right, sunny but not hot and not cold. Ed was out but came back before they left and then ignored us because he is always working these days.

Max stayed under the bed and didn’t come out till dark. I biked over to my friend, John, and he is not doing well despite the pace maker that was put in. He has a lot of respiratory problems, isn’t sleeping well, and has lost too much weight. I walked Buster for him yesterday.

I have been taking Aleve and using essential oil blends on my back. The oils do help but must be applied two or three times a day, and definitely at bed time. I can’t wait to be normal. Please tell me this will happen.

I am also pleased that I was able to re-set the modem for the computer as I couldn't get on line yesterday. I called the provider and they told me what to do.

Recently, the computer was recapturing sites visited and we couldn't get rid of them. Then other things were going wrong so we called our computer guy and he reset everything and ever since, I can't remain logged in to MyBloggers but must sign in every time even if I click out for just a few minutes. The same with the e mail. It's annoying.

xx, Teal

You make me want to start taking ballet lessons for my back pain as I am sure the stretches would help give me more flexibility. I also keep thinking I may try Pilates. I checked into the idea several years ago and no one in Augusta was teaching it back then. Thankful that you are walking without a limp.

Physical therapy should feel good, with the big heat packs and all. While healing time may seem long, you're in so much better situation for it than another woman might've been. Your dancing (and hrt) strengthened and maintained the integrity of your bones and ligaments. I bet you will shock everyone with your recovery speed.

I am sure that the stretches and exercise kept that accident from doing
even worse things that it did. Chronic pain is a real bummer! Sending
good and loving thoughts your way.

I'm so glad to hear the car-pedestrian accident didn't wipe you out for good or break some bones. Too bad it didn't knock your back straight and solve all your pain problems.
