Sneaking In

I'm trying to sneak in a quick post before I have to take my father to the dermatologist. He's had skin cancer for 40 years, and has to have the little devils burned off every year. At age 93, I don't know why he bothers. It's painful.

I've been lucky so far, despite my teen years out in the sun.
I seldom use or have used sun block lotion. My bad, I know.

Then I have to "go to town"--post office to hold my mail, library for a good book(s), tire store for lug nut tightening, Dollar store for a few trip travel items, bank for cash, drug store for blood pressure med refill, and gas! Whew!

I'd like to play golf, but I haven't even started packing (I leave in two days-Thurs). But I've done this so many times, I can pack quickly. Since I'm not tent camping, it makes things easier. I just checked the 10 day forecast for New England, and it looks like a mixed bag (a weatherman term I don't like--overused--but appropriate here). I'll ask Fredo.

Babysitting went fine yest. Johnny wouldn't take a nap, but he laid quietly for 30'. We played with "blocks and cars", read, went outside, etc. All this time, I had classical music on the radio. He doesn't get that at home. Culture! I draw the line at opera, however!

Okay, that's all the time I have. I'll try to squeeze in reading a few posts before I leave. See you October 10-11.

Work hard on your trip and have fun.

Or, work hard and have fun doing it! Really, that's exactly what happens. People think I'm crazy to pay to work, but it gives one a great feeling. Hard to explain to a lazy populace.

Have a great trip. It is a wonderful time to visit New England.

So I've heard. Indiana has nice colors, but New England is noted for them. Hit the road, Jack!!!

Why??

New England should be beautiful this time of the year.

That was one of the reasons I signed up for this trip. Wilderness Volunteers outings make me "see the USA" (but not in my Chevrolet). I'm already anticipating what trips are available for next year.

The weather forecast sort of a mixed bag.Today is supposed to be the last day of warm weather and cooling off.Fall weather will be among us when you get here. Some rain and showers is predicting. But will see.
You will be fine in traveling.Good luck, drive safe,be alert.

McDonald's coffee is my friend. I take my cup in for free refills all the way. Pee and go. It keeps me alert and prevents me from driving too far without taking a break. See you soon!

Getting away is always a neat experience. I also like returning home!

I live in Western Massachusetts and by this week end the temps during the day will be in the low 60's and in the 50's at night...For the next 10 days temps will range from the low 60's to the low 70's during the day...I hope this was helpful

Enjoy--and play a game of tennis with Fredo!
comment by greatmartin on Sept 27, 2011 7:15 AM ()
While I can play tennis, golf is my game. Fredo would wipe the court up with me!

Good luck with your errands and packing. If you can get it all done today, tomorrow you can relax and play golf! Hope you can drive a non-interstate route, at least part of the way. Much more interesting.

Thanks. I'll be taking I-70 across Ohio, but getting off and on through PA and beyond. Unlike traveling West, there are too many little towns to go through headed East. (I can never remember when one should or should not capitalize directions!) On my return trip, I plan to go through Tiffin and see Jon.
