Dirty Jobs, and More

Today is moving day for my father--the big stuff. I have already moved a bunch of boxes and small items in my truck.
He has help for today's move, including me, of course. Crumby weather--cold, windy, and snowing! This moving business--my sisters and dad-- is getting tiresome. 5 in one year. I'm staying put!

Since my sister has moved out of my house and (finally) taken all her belongings, I've been replenishing my old "stuff" she threw out (trash or Goodwill). In fact, I returned to Goodwill two days ago to find a wall picture to replace one of hers. Found one and hanged in up (or is it "hung"?)--twice, actually, in different places.

Speaking of dirty jobs, I watched Discover Channel's show by that title (with Mike Rowe), because they featured Purdue's forensic lab with pigs in various states of decay. Lovely maggots turned my stomach. Last night, the dirty job was cutting down trees and using donkeys to haul the logs out. Heck, I do the first half all the time. And I'm the ass that does the second half!

I see that IU fired their football coach, despite beating rival Purdue. Now they're back to square one. And just as they were beginning to build the program. When will they learn? It takes time (think Rome). I'm so disgusted.

Fixed me up a little "Tex-Mex" dish last night. Black beans, corn and rice, all spiced up, filling the insides of a rolled up flat bread. Delicious. Broc on the side (plus apple and pickled beets).

Has anybody heard Susan Boyle's recent CD? I see it's #1 on the best selling charts. I need a review before I buy it.

Happy First of December. Stay warm (Boo Martin, Teal, Dottie!).

Winter has arrived....at least in the East and Midwest. So far we have been spared.

Nice of you to drop by. We're forecasted to get 2-4" of snow Sat. And I'm driving 50+ miles to pick up my daughter at the airport. NOOOOO!

The 'moving out' part I don't mind - it's the 'putting it somewhere' and then having to put it in the 'correct' place later, that gets to me
I don't like maggots. . . . or worms . . . . or slugs . . . . or frogs . . . . or snakes . . . . I'm ok with snails though

Speaking of snakes, for some reason, I happened to peer into a bucket in my basement the other day, and saw a little garter snake curled up. He was alive, but couldn't get out. I released him in the wood pile. Hope he finds mice! I love snakes!

No snow here in the deep South but cold and windy, low tonight is supposed to be around 27. I love watching Mike Rowe...he came to our local cricket farm last year. I know what you mean about cutting the trees; I have been the ass on more than one occasion. I have not heard anything about Susan Boyle's new CD. I bought her first one and love it. Did you see her choke up on the live performance on The View recently. What the heck was that all about?

I googled Susan and discovered her CD is Christmas music. No thanks. I heard about her "redo" on The View. Sad. I wonder when they'll run out of "dirty jobs". There has to be a limit. I notice he's pleading for ideas.

I never want to move again or help anyone else do it.

Having a truck has its advantages---and disadvantages!

Interesting weather pattern. Hearing about stormy weather in the north and having 40 mi an hour winds here, but mild temps. I wonder if it's the same system and we have the tail end. The water's choppy. I love that. Happy Dec. 1 to you too.

Better now than late Jan, early Feb, when I'm in the Florida panhandle again. I'm crossing my fingers for good weather--unlike last year.

The only thing I hate more than moving is helping someone else move. Good luck today and here's to hoping that's the end of moving for a while.

I absolutely loved the show Dirty Jobs back when I got good channels. I had a big crush on the host.I always enjoyed the idea of watching what people had to do to keep our civilized world spinning.

We got a lot of snow over the weekend, but's all melted now.

I love Mike Rowe's sense of humor. Wouldn't mind having his physique! He was "dwarfed" by the two lumberjacks, however! And don't worry about typos, etc. We all have them. We're supposed to get more snow this weekend. Blah. Happy I just rented a home in Florida for two weeks starting Jan.22!

That's some good grammar, eh? That should read, "but it's all melted".
