Biopsy

Yes, I survived (colonoscopy). They did find a couple of polyps, one quite large. It's being biopsied. Otherwise, everything fairly normal. But, I have to return for another exam in 3 years. I was hoping for 10, or, like Martin and my father, none.

I don't like the diet restriction placed upon me for this week. Low fiber, which seems contradictory. I fixed a tuna macaroni casserole with spinach last night. With cheese, onions (plus garlic), and mushroom soup, it was quite delicious. Of course, I'm making up for 36 hours of "fasting".

I got the spinach from my daughter's greenhouse. Visited yesterday to see my grandson (ex-wife gone). We had a grand time playing and conversing.

When I awoke this morning, I got to see the full moon set and the sun rise. The moon was HUGE, and red. This morning's paper said the moon was at perigee, the closest it's been in 18 years. No wonder it looked so large. Check it out this evening as it rises after sunset.

Also in the paper, there was a list of book best-sellers. Tell me why Dr. Seuss has 3, count 'em, 3 books listed (Green Eggs.., One Fish.., and Cat in Hat)? What am I missing here? And how about the nonfiction list? Out of the top 10, half are by "conservatives": #2- Laura Hillenbrand ("Unbroken"), #3- Mike Huckabee, #5- "Revolt!: How to Defeat Obama and Repeal His Socialist Programs" (Morris and McGnn), #9- G.W Bush ("Decision Points"), and #10- Donald Rumsfeld ("Known and Unknown").
I'm beginning to think only Republicans write or read books. Where are the counter-attackers? I'm thinking "Diary of a Wimpy Democrat".

That's all for this session. Enjoy your weekend. Get out and exercise! I just finished "Born to Run", and am eager to hit the road--weather and colon be damned!

So happy to hear you got through that ordeal. I saw some little portable greenhouse arrangement online and thought how fun it'd be to have some early lettuce and spinach growing in one.

R ran a half marathon today and I walked 4 miles. I think I got my exercise covered! I hope everything comes back fine and dandy with the biopsy. I bet they will!

Good for you--and R!! Were you texting as you walked?

Glad the doc snared those polyps! Good news! Even if the biopsy is positive, that damn thing is out of you!

Plus, they say cancerous polyps grow very slowly and seldom spread. But tell that to my mother who died from them. She waited too long--it was too late to control the damage.

Ah, your casserole sounds delicious! Makes me remember that I have not yet eaten dinner. Need food!

When I couldn't eat for 36 hours, I discovered I'm a compulsive "snacker". It was very difficult not to grab a handful of nuts or raisons as I passed the pantry. I learned a lesson. I need more will-power.

Republicans write( well ghostwriters do that) and buy books but have you ever seen one read a book?
Glad you had time with the grandkid.
I am going to have a bite of cheese the the man in the moon tonight as we watch the sun set.

Well somebody must be reading this garbage. Disgusting. I love cheese, by the way.

hope that the biospy will be negative.Tonight the moon will be huge and bright. If you hear any howling that is me from Epsom. How about Charles Dickens double header there.
Hear that this is a good read, kind of long but good.
Or Mark Twain Bio.Very thick book.Have not attempted this one as of yet.
Right now I am reading "Tic Tock"yes,James Patterson.

You were saying all the right things, right up to the Patterson book admission! I read Mark Twain's autobio when I went to Florida. You'll need a magnifying lens. Clouds rolled in just before the moon rose. Big disappointment. Glad I saw it the day before. I thought I heard coyotes howling in the night, but it might have been you!

Or you could just dislike both parties equally, the way I do. By the way, I love fresh spinach!

I trust all will be well on the biopsy. Better not be too rowdy or you
may have stomach cramps.
comment by elderjane on Mar 19, 2011 7:17 AM ()
They say 90% of the biops come back negative. It's that 10% that concerns me! I ran 5 miles yest--no cramps yet.
