The Day After

Well Thanksgiving is now over and Christmas looms on the horizon. Today is "Black Friday", traditionally it is the busiest shopping day of the Christmas season. But what remains to be seen is how the current financial situation will affect how people spend. My guess will be that to a certain extent people will be out there shopping, but they will tend to be a be a bit more frugal with their money.
While most of my family is out shopping this morning I am here in the confines of my home, watching children run around and sometimes breaking up the usual amounts of squabbles among the tribe. There isn't much snow here, but it is cold..which is damp and it can cut right through you. I hope all you had a happy and safe Thanksgiving, and I further hope your weekend will be calm and quiet..because so far mine isn't!

This is the first "Black Friday" (In 23 years) I wasn't in a mall (Although I do have some small displays out now). Basically.. this is what will happen. It will NOT be the busiest shopping day of the year (as per tradition).. but the people will go out,, they just won't buy....

They will buy eventually. The last 2 weeks before Christmas will be awesome for all stores, vendors, etc.. The people will wait till last minute (because they know alot will be marked down).. and the people will shop. People always buy at Xmas. The stores that do NOT make a huge markdown this year.. will lose their asses. I know how this works. That's why I am not worried about sitting here now (instead of a mall)...

Sales overall will be less... many stores(chains) will go out depending how they play their game. Gonna take awhile before the "economy" goes up... it will during the "Democratic" phase.. but takes time..

The economy... I read somewhere that there are ten chains that need to have a very good Black Friday, or they'll go out of business. I only frequent one of these, but would be really sad if they closed. Think of all of the people who are losing their jobs, just when they need them the most!

Never have done the Black Friday thing--besides this year I think you will be able to get better bargains after this weekend proves to be dismal!

It will be quiet here.Have no intention on Black Friday.
Really do not care. But if this people want to spend, then let them.
Keep the economy going. The sad part as you know time.
Everyone use plastic card.some of them have not control over this.
They will spend some and this will help the retailers.
Be safe, and watch out for the children's
