He stood there and waited
Staring down the railroad track
Until he realized
She was not coming back.
So he left the station
By himself,all alone
He realized at this point
She wanted to be on her own.
No words were spoken
No note, no goodbye
No chance for redemption
No tears to cry.
He wished he knew
What was in her head
But she walked away
With nothing left to be said.
She was neither sad
Nor was she angry
She was just tired
And needed to rest her head.
She settled into her seat
As the station seemed to disappear
She didn't care where she was going
As long as it wasn't here.
She didn't feel sadness
Nor did she feel pain
She had tried to tell him what she needed
Time and time again.
She needed closeness
Someone that would care
Someone that wouldn't turn away
Someone that would share.
So she walked away
To start life anew
Following her heart
To herself be true.
She turned
He turned for one last look
Riding, walking away
They closed the book.
