Our lives pass us by
Not unlike pages in a book
And every once in awhile
We slow down to take a look.
Sometimes happiness comes
But every once in awhile
Moments that touch the heart
And make us smile.
We go for the brass ring
So hard that we try
But what of material goods
What good are they when we die.
Our life will not be measured
By the size of our stone
For what good is done
If we are to pass alone.
We need to take our life
And give it a big embrace
Plant a gentle kiss
Upon it's loving face.
For when we are gone
And leave those ones so dear
As long as we're remembered
We will always be here.
