The leaves had all but fallen from
the trees
There was a cold breeze that filled
the air
The Fall would soon give way to Winter
Without fancy nor flair.
As the wind gently blew
The leaves swirled silently
Dancing as they floated to earth
Without a sound, so peacefully.
Soon the snow will come
And Winter will be here
Huddled inside our homes
The warmness of the fireplace we'll
be near.
Sharing our precious moments
With friends and family
Some from down the road
And some we rarely see.
We will gather them all
And celebrate the holiday season
Or just invite them over
For no particular reason.
To laugh, to reminisce
To enjoy some holiday cheer
Remembering what is important
And why we are here.
So let the snow come
Let the Winter be long
I will be her, warm by the fire
Right where I belong.
