It Went Well, But ...

I found the place last night without much difficulty, which is quite rare for people like myself who are directionally challenged... :0)

I met the HR lady, she was really nice. My first thought as I sat down at the conference table was that she had told me it was a veg office (I wasn't sure if she meant vegetarian or vegan) but as I set down my leather portfolio thinger I was like oh dear gawd Kristy, way to think this through. hahaha OOPSY! Anyways, the interview went well... I really do like their cause, a lot.

The negatives are this - longer commute, I wouldn't be able to take the boys out at lunch, less money and I would have to work late quite often and there is no overtime. Those are kinda big factors, but I do like their cause. We shall see if they are interested and we'll go from there... Apparently I found the posting before anyone else, they hadn't put it out on job web sites yet, I found it from their own website. I think that's impressive if I do say so myself! haha We shall see... but it's not a promising opportunity even if it presents itself...

I applied for a few other things last night when I got home, although they were admin. I am not a fan of admin, as we all know, but if I can make more money in perhaps a different environment maybe I would be happier. I realized last night in the interview that what I don't like about this place is the atmosphere - that has a lot to do with it. It's dead quiet, no one talks to each other really, it's just very cold. Not really for me! I dunno why I didn't realize that earlier but whatever whatever... That and their anal retentiveness about everything relating to me taking time away from this oh so important post of mine... ridiculous...

anywho! Tonight I get to meet SB's cookie! I can't wait! We are going to a local watering hole that has trivia and such... should be a good time. A double date! hehe

Happy Tuesday everyone... Too bad I am not able to say happy Friday hey? Ooooo well!

The right job will come your way. You just have to believe it!

Jeez, that's too bad that there are so many drawbacks to the job... but I guess time will tell. If they offer the position to you, either way, you'll make the right choice. Who knows, maybe if you can't accept this position because of the wage, they might keep you in mind for future opportunities. Good luck.

A cold environment makes for a long work day--lots of long hours, but no overtime--I think not! You have a great time tonight.

Wow, I'm DC (directinally challenged) as well. I don't know about not being able to take the boys out. That could backfire on you. (Literally) Have a great time tonight.

I hear ya! My working environment is schizophrenic. The boss in the office cannot make up his mind if he wants us to get along and have fun or to stay quiet at our desks. His mood changes often and it's hard being in the bull pen right outside his office. My chant to get me through: "Ommmmmm, but I get off work at 6pm everyday, ommmmmmmm."

Crossing fingers that something so much better comes along very soon for you!

You are right...making ends meet is crucial but a happy working envioronment and work you love makes work seem more like play. *(I only had that situation a year, but couldn't make ends meet.)

You need to come work here, there are people talking all the time. We could keep you entertained all day long..you might run and hide when you get home, but there would be lots of talking..

Sounds like Tuesday night will be as good as Friday night! Have fun!

Hey Kristy, In my opinion, being in a happy upbeat atmosphere is critical in a work place. Even my husband says that his job is boring when some of his co-workers are off or out of town. He says it's too quiet, makes the day go by slower, yada yada yada... BUT, if you can't make ends meet with less money, it would seem impossible to take the job even though there are better perks and the potential for a happier work day. Crossing my fingers that you're able to find the right balance that you need so that work is not such a stressful factor for ya.

I can't wait to play trivia. I think R is his own team as well as C. Because they are smart. Haha. We can be a tag team like we always are. :)
