Weekend

It has been a good weekend. Friday during the day we found out that our house appraised! YAY! That was the last major hurdle in my mind.

Friday night we went to a friends wedding. It was a Russian wedding. There were bottles of vodka on the table. It was a FUN night! we partied in to the morning.

Yesterday we had a nice lazy day. We watched a couple movies, Hugo and The Sitter. The Sitter was a raunchy ish comedy, and Hugo was a very interesting -innocent- film. I enjoyed it, but Ron found it boring and went to bed early. ha

I have been trying to volunteer at a local shelter to walk dogs. You'd think it would be easy, right? Well it's not. I had asked the county shelter, and they essentially told me that had all the volunteers that they needed. Um, ok. So I finally found a place where I could walk the dogs, which was my goal. I had my orientation today, it was very nice! The weather sucked, it's been raining, but the dogs seemed to enjoy the walk so it was all worthwhile. I am excited to go back.

Happy remainder of the weekend peeps!

I was thinking about your nice yard when you move, it will be so much fun to discover what's planted there.

Yes,there are tons of people who loved to walk the dog and not surprised by this.
I did this for many years here in my younger days
At that time did not have any orientation at all.Just came in get my dog and walk.
Always the same dog as he will remember who I am.Do not feel so sad about this.
But it is nice to see people taking interest in them.

yeah, it's thriving in my area apparently. And yes, that is a good thing. I loved it and will certainly be back!

Most weddings I have been to are normally traditional scottish affairs. Kilts, bagpipes and ceilidh dancing. It is great to get a chance of different traditions and customs though. Vodka=sorehead!!

A Scottish wedding sounds cool though. Haven't been to a big variety myself!

This one was an afternoon and evening. The bride and groom did party the whole next day, and we were invited to that as well, but we decided to stay home and rest. I guess we are getting old!!!

I went to a Greek wedding once... it was very cool. the sister of the groom got blotto and kept hitting on various cousins of the bride.

I would think a shelter would be thrilled to have volunteers to walk the dogs. A Russian wedding! That sounds like a fun event.

Hmmm... Donna called the local shelter to inquire about walking/volunteering and they never called her back. What's with that?

I know right? I guess Fredo may have a point, I just don't get how they can turn people away...
