New Last Name

It's getting more and more official!

I got my new drivers license and ss card in the mail. I am still looking at the dl in disbelief that it's my picture but not my last name. So strange! Not to say that I am not thrilled to have given up my last name, I am! But it's still strange to see it different...

Work has been ok... nothing too great or monumental there... tomorrow is supposed to be a long day, so I will expect to work 7 hours... Monday and Tuesday were 4 hour days, Wed was 3 hours and today was one hour. I guess I am due to work! haha

So that's life at the moment. Hope all is well with everyone!

I don't know that I will ever change my name again. Between foster care and two husbands, I've lived most of my life with other people's names.

I dropped the middle name and took my maiden name as my last name. I did this for my father because he had no boys, as a way of preserving it. However, I know what you mean.

What a nice thing to do for your father! Kept the name alive, I like it.

It takes a while to get used to it; but you'll be surprised how it becomes just "you" after a while.

I bet you're right.

I like my married name because my maiden name got mispronounced so much, but I have noticed that no matter what your name is, people are going to try to change the spelling; even if it's Smith or Jones they will try to add an extra e or y somewhere.

oh that is sooooo true!

I kept my 'maiden' name.

You should have told her you weren't signing on to be the maid and got out sooner.

I love when some women have three, four, and five names! First name, middle name, Maiden name, first husbands last name, and second husbands last name.

I love seeing your new name in print. I'm guessing you kept your middle name and dropped the maiden name altogether. It'll take some time to get used to but I bet it won't take too long.

you are correct ma'am! While it's strange, it's not missed.

You did not have to give this up.Could have used in your middle name.
A lot of them do it.
