Good News, Better News---tis the Season

The good news --I received an e-mail from Charlotte, the press agent for the touring
shows, inviting me to see "Cats" which will be here for 4 performances
only starting this Friday--we will be going to the opening--I haven't
seen this show since 1983 in New York City at the Winter Garden
theatre--I did get teed off at it when it became the longest running
show on Broadway over taking "A Chorus Line" but I soon got over that
when "Phantom of the Opera" over-took "Cats"--"A Chorus Line" is still
the longest AMERICAN running show on Broadway! {#apploud.gif} Then the following week we go to see "Rock of Ages on Tuesday December 28.

The better news --got an e-mail from Chuck asking if he and Terry could come down and
visit me during the holidays--like he has to ask!!!  I bought the sofa
bed for them! Usually they come down for my Leap Year birthday so the
last time I saw them was in 2008--hope they don't think they are getting
out of coming down February 29, 2012!!! OMG! I've got 6 days to lose 30
pounds!!!{#rofl.gif}

(This picture is from when they were down here last--3 years ago--when it was cold and I was still smoking and had  birds!)

I
am going to have to do something about the weather before they get
here--Sunday it was 80 degrees and here is the story today from our
local paper!

"If you thought last week was cold, brrrrrace for this week.
Another
large, dry Arctic air mass was due to arrive late Sunday afternoon,
plunging South Florida temperatures through Wednesday.
National
Weather Service meteorologist Kim Brabander in Miami said temperatures
will start to dip into the mid to upper 40s Sunday night.
The
mercury will bottom out overnight Monday into Tuesday morning with lows
in the mid to upper 30s, in Fort Lauderdale, flirting with the record
low of 34 degrees set in 1962. But, it could feel like the mid 20s with a
wind chill, according to Brabander.

"By the time we get to Tuesday morning there will probably be a freeze warning out for most of inland South Florida," he said.
Typically,
lows reach 63 degrees at this time of year, which is 23 degrees warmer
than the 169-year record shattering 40-degree low felt in Broward last
Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The 51-year-old record of 43 degrees for Dec. 8 also was broken last Wednesday, forecasters said.
"It's
pretty unusual to have two back-to-back cold fronts this early in the
season," Brabander said. "Usually that doesn't happen until closer to
Christmas or in January."
"[South Florida cold spells] like this only
happen about once every 30 years," Brabander said. "So, it's like a
generational event."

Report by Wayne K. Roustan

Hopefully it will start warming up on Wednesday and be back to normal temperatures by the time they get here Saturday.

Chuck is my computer guru--he got me started on all this--so I have to get my questions ready for him!

5
days until I see "Cats"--6 days until I see Terry and Chuck--16 days to
see "Rock of Ages" and only 12 days until Santa pays me a visit!

Have a great Christmas with friends and at the theater, but I know already you will because you know HOW to have fun.....

Janet is right--"we live such different lives". It's what makes the world go 'round. Keep us informed. Enjoy the good times (although I don't have to tell you that!)

Maybe you could use some of my fleece blankets, after all!I hope that the weather behaves by the time your visit rolls around.

You and I live such different lives, Martin and I think that's why I enjoy your blog posts so much. I can't enjoy the things that you enjoy at this point in my life so I feel very fortunate to be able to read your accounts of them.
