Quilting, Tent, Trip

My mother in law, bless her heart, has deemed it her life's mission to introduce me to the world of crafts. She has tried many in the past but they were pretty much failures. She is the one who got me started on jewelry making. The only other craft I can do is crocheting. And with that, as long as you want a blanket, scarf or other square object, I am your person! lol
Well she is also a quilter and does amazing work! I have always admired her different crafts that involved quilting. She showed me her recent project and its really cool! Yesterday she sat me down and taught me how to quilt!

Yes, I made that with my own two hands! Hand sewn even! and it is so much fun and relaxing to me. She gave me 3 of these blocks to work on for now. I think when I am done I will copy the pattern to make my own! I never thought I could quilt but it turns out I can!
Father in law found this tent he had in his attic. It is a nice big one. They set it up today to see if it has any holes. And it was even rain tested today. It will suit us just fine when we go on our trip at the end of this month! And now I will have something to do on that long trip besides read and count cars. lol

Come over and I will give you a big box of lovely material to make quilts. I don't think I will ever use them. Nena

Hey, good work, Mary. I'll give you some quilting stuff too. You are still coming my way aren't you? Hope so. Just let me know when.

Quilts are so pretty, some of the Amish ladies do some amazing ones...I would love to learn, but it's hard to set aside the time. In the town where I work they have quilting bee's and the ladies have made some amazing quilts.

You have done a beautiful job on the quilting. I'd love to learn how to do these things, I s'pose you'd get lost in thought and be in your own little world for a while, it's just what I need to do. I might look into this and start one of my own - just in time for next winter. I'll keep you posted

Good for you — nice work! Glad you found a tent with no holes or leaks, too. Soggy camping can't be too much fun....
