Have you seen that movie? I love it! It seems we are slowly building a zoo in our home. First came the two turtles. Then in October we got a gray tiger striped kitten, mr. lucky cat! Now for our newest addition. I had taken Dakota to his weekly counseling session last tuesday. Towards the end of the session his psychologist calls me in to the room. Dakota says something about getting a chinchilla. I tell him, I would love to get you one but they are very expensive. Dr. Lauren says, what if it was free? Seems her niece is preparing to go away to college and does not have time for her chinchilla. So yesterday we picked him up. I think they said he is 7 years old, they can live pretty long! He came with his cage, bedding, food, snacks treats and any other accessory needed. Dakota is in heaven! He keeps him in his room and will shut the door so he can let the little guy run around. Did you know they are marsupials? Like the kangaroo! He is adorable, very friendly. I have a feeling his counselor has taken a special liking to my little guy.
The college I work for shuts down during Christmas. So I am on holiday until January 2nd! I love that about my job! I get to hang out with Dakota and play with any toys he gets for Christmas.
Mr. Lucky Cat has undecorated our tree. He especially likes climbing inside the tree. but we must have a tree! Christmas eve I will lock him in my bedroom to prevent him from unwrapping presents!
Me and hubby ventured to the mall yesterday to do some shopping. It was so packed. We got a bite to eat and went to the first store on our list. the checkout line was out the door! So we turned around and left the mall. Who can shop like that! And the rudeness!
We went over to petsmart to look for a book on chinchilla's. We must have looked rather lost because two young people came bouncing over to help us. I asked if they had a book on chinchilla's and off they bounced to show us where! We also picked up treats for chilly the chinchilla and mr. lucky cat. Although Mr. Lucky Cat has been bad, he will still get christmas presents. After all, he is still a kitten!
I think that will be the extent of our zoo. And once spring comes, the turtles will be released to a nearby pond to live out there days.
