Yesterday's News

I took my 30 percent off coupon to Sherwin Williams yesterday and bought l3 gallons of paint. I couldn't sleep
last night for thinking about it. I hate to paint. I
can't stand to have anyone else in the house for long enough to hire it done. It has to be done before we get new
carpet. Ted will do the ten foot stuff and the cutting in
but I will be covered in paint with a cluttered house until
it is done and Ted is slow and deliberate.

I got a warm white for the entry, living room and hall and
family room. I am using antique red on the fireplace wall.
The bedrooms will get a very light blue to match the one
wall papered wall in each room.

This is very traumatic. I rank it almost up there with
relationship problems but below child problems. Previously,
we painted all the cabinets white and that was a week long
ordeal.

I am stressed out.

I was going to paint the kitchen ceiling there in Colorado but didn't get around to it. I bought a whole gallon of that paint, probably too much of it, maybe we can use some on the bathroom ceilings (the kitchen and bathroom walls have wallpaper).

Wow! Are you going to be busy! I sure do not have the energy to paint.

I am feeling much better about it. I jumped right in and got the entry
done. The living room is for tomorrow. The white is a nice, warm white.
We decided if we only were in the mood to do one wall, that is what we would do.

I don't blame you one little bit...I hate painting, too. And I hate having my house in upheaval even more. And I hate not being able to do something completely on my own and needing another's help.But... freshly painted walls are nice and you'll feel a lot better when it's all over. Any possibility of hiring someone and going away on vacation? I know a nice Canadian girl who would love to have you.

Thanks for the invitation but I think we are going to make it. The upheaval ad having everything in a mess is the worst part and we are not
going to do so much at one time that we can't put the house back together
when we are done.

I’m in agreement with others…Stop stressing Lady!!

You have prepared well for battle. As John said you have the paint. You know what colour décor you are going with. BTW I like the idea of red on the fireplace wall. I feature walls.

So here’s my thought…What’s the chance of you putting on some good music, become one with your weapon, be it a brush or roller and just go with the flow?

Breathe in, Breath out...

Once we got started and saw how fresh and clean it was, we are now ready
to go.

We also need to re paint. We painted before we moved in, in 2002. It will be a nightmare because we have lots of stuff. I'd just as soon hire it done but Ed insists he will do it. Ed is impatient doing stuff. I am trepid.

As you know, we had to move so fast we were unable to get the house painted
or the carpet done. I prefer wood floors but Ted likes carpet. The trouble with hiring stuff done is having them underfoot.

I painted the house I'm in when it was empty right after purchase, but that was 8 years ago--it's due again. I am not looking forward to it. But you're half way there.... you have the paint!

It is so nice to be able to do it when it is empty. We have to move a lot
of stuff and then move it back.

awe... don't stress!!! Think about how wonderful it will look in a few weeks... all the strife will be worth it. ooorrrr can you hire people and plan several day trips?
comment by kristilyn3 on Oct 24, 2010 3:54 PM ()
Maybe 6 weeks. We are not rushing. Strangers upset Rex...He was so terrified of the ladder that he wouldn't eat until I moved it out of the utility room.
