What Ever Happened?

So many bloggers have deserted us that I revised my friends
list. Blogging is such a neat way to stay connected that as
long as I can crawl to a computer, I will be here.

I miss Elfie and Elkhound a lot. Mary does blog a little
but we haven't heard from Elfie in such a long time.

I had my study club this morning so I didn't paint today but
I got the entry done yesterday and I am psyching both of us
up so we can paint tomorrow. I moved things around and took
all the books out of the bookcase so I could move it. The
white that is on the walls now looks like skim milk..ugh but the new paint is warm white, the color of rich whipping cream.

Ted is puny today and feels really hot. I hope it is not
a virus. We won't ever get the painting done if it is
because he doesn't trust me.

The political campaign In Oklahoma made the evening news
last night. The Repubican candidate who is dumb as Sarah
Palin said being a wife and mother made her the best
candidate for Gov. Her democratic competition has never
been married. I ask you if this is not one of the silliest things ever. Not only because the Republican candidate
was alleged to be having an affair with a highway patrolman and it broke up her first marriage, but she was single for
years and just remarried this summer. To those of us with
long memories, it just won't fly.

Randy's blog was really disturbing. It brought back a lot
of emotion that I thought I had filed away forever.

Funny how they forget about their own skeletons. Pretty stupid that they think everyone else has too.

Very, very true.

We need a party - a HALLOW'EEN PARTAAAAYYYYYY . . . .

I love parties but guess I will have to be content with scaring small
children.

Hey, I wasn't out for sympathy! I was simply venting my anger and frustration. Evidently, a little self-pity was tossed in the mix of emotions. It's really no big deal (although it obviously troubles me). But thanks for your concerns.

I don't think you got sympathy. Just a lot of understanding and empathy.

Not at all. I was promptly elected president of the local Beta Sigma Phi chapter.

Great!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one shaken up by Randy's blog. I, too, found myself flooded with emotions I thought I had done away with a long time ago.

I was just thinking about Elfie the other day. I miss her, too.I get to have contact with Mary because of Facebook. Are you on facebook? Maybe somebody could look Elfie up...

Do you miss the glory?

I know all about that trust in painting requirement. You'll be so happy to get it all done.
comment by troutbend on Oct 26, 2010 4:31 PM ()
I know you know how we can't hold a paintbrush right and now Ted doesn't
even trust me with the masking off.

It's sad when you connect with someone and then they disappear or withdraw, making you wonder if you were the only one who cared. If I were going to stop blogging, I'd be sure everyone I've connected with had my E mail.

Yes, we need to let someone know if we are signing off. I feel a real
connection to everyone.

Some of the missing bloggers are on FB, but there are still many missing.

I was in touch with a blogger in the Swat Valley in Pakistan. I hope he
is still alive. Tha is a very dangerous part of the world.

Years ago when I was in the running for president of the local parent run preschool some Sara Palinesque mother nominated a mom with 2 kids and 1 on the way and told everyone to vote for the candidate with the most children. She didn't know I had already given birth to my third. I won.

You certainly aced that election.

You won and your reward was to run this @#$%$ group? Oh, help.

Your comment about Elfie made me think- how would any of us even know if one of us died? (Not that I think Elfie is dead- just a thought.) Yes, Randy's post did hit a nerve. What surprised me the most was his level of honesty. We are basically honest with each other, but that was intimate and touched my heart.
comment by dragonflyby on Oct 26, 2010 3:04 PM ()
That is a thought. I will instruct Ted and Bobby. I don't plan to
out live either of them.
reply by elderjane on Oct 27, 2010 4:03 AM ()
I still have an off-site email addy for Elfie, but I haven't used it in quite some time. Last time I did she came back for awhile then disappeared again.

Randy seems to have touched a lot of people with his most recent blog... I miss Elfie!!!I had forgotten about her... I see updates from Mary sometimes on Facebook but it's not the same. I hope Ted feels better!
comment by kristilyn3 on Oct 26, 2010 2:55 PM ()
I miss Elfie too. I wonder about her and her cats and the trauma of
her job and daily commute. I hope life is too good for her to take the
time to blog.
