A Tidbit from Jane

This just struck me as hilarious and I wanted to share it
with you. You remember Lady Catherine, Darcy's horrid aunt
and I quote her at the end of a visit to the sick.

"Dr. McFee's diagnosis should be regarded as highly suspect.
I have never approved of protracted dying. It is an affectation in the aristocracy; in the lower classes it is
merely an excuse for avoiding work. The blacksmith's son has
been reputedly dying for the last four years, yet when I drive
past I see him assisting his father with every appearance of
robust health. The de Bourghs have never gone in for prolonged dying. People should make up their minds whether to
live or to die and do one of the other with the least
inconvenience to others." Encouraging not!

It has been sort of a nothing day. We are expecting a wintery
mix but hope it stays away. It is scheduled for midnight which will make it hard on every one who has to work tomorrow.

I have been clipping coupons and have mastered the free thing on a couple of items. I saved 43 dollars last month
couponing which is worth 30 minutes on Sunday going through
the Sunday paper. It is the best I have ever done because
I do not hoard stuff I don't use. I give the overflow to
Ellie.

I really enjoyed jjohn's video. It was fun to picture he
and Donna and the dogs and their life. It seems so happy
and contented.

Don' use coupons. Did as a young mother, but have not for years. I don't get a paper anymore either.

I am not a very economical person but I like patting myself on the back for
this piece of thrift.

Now you've made me want to read "Pride and Prejudice" again.... Of course, I've already started to mourn the end of Downton Abbey's season two this Sunday. At least it will stay online for a few more weeks, and I can see it all over again, just to tide me over until next season....
Thank you for the coupon tips! Every little bit helps.

I love BBC and almost all their movies and funny bits.

I loved Downtown Abbey too and cannot wait for the BBC's 2010 season to be released in America. (Season 2 was 2009)

Re. the commissaries on bases, is there nothing the Republicans will not consider "pandering to the poor"?
comment by tealstar on Feb 14, 2012 5:01 PM ()
Evidently not. Dubya started the war and now they want to take away what few
perks these guys have.

There are some great coupons online that are of the products that I use more often than those in the paper. You can find them at shopathome.com.

Another good source is webfinnacoupons.com In fact for grocery coupons, it is even better than shopathome.

Thanks for the tip.

Most of the coupons I see are for packaged products I never use ... sweet breakfast cereals, cake mixes, etc. If I do save coupons, I forget to use them. Or don't take them along. So I just gave up and tossed them all. I also never use the discount coupons one gets in a book in the mail. In the trash it goes.

I love glade sense and spray and I use a lot of Pledge but I shop big once a
month and just get perishables every week. I am lucky in that I have a
very large pantry and have access to the commissary at nearby Tinker AFB
By the way the Republicans are trying to do away with commissary stores on
military bases. They are available for service men and their families and
disabled and retired military. We have been urged to write our Congressmen. Ours are all Republican.

Snow here today but it is melting off. I long for summer!

I started to go through my coupon "envelope" and suddenly tossed the whole thing in the wastebasket! Not worth the effort. Aldi and Dollar Gen prices are cheap enough (generics).

My favorite Pride and Prejudice movie was the 1940 version. The old gal who played Lady Catherine did a good job with the just-sucked-a-lemon persona. And her homely daughter!

I think I missed that one but I loved the BBC version.

Donna already thinks I post too much on FB... now I'll be making more videos too. But I won't blame you1

I wish I had the technical ability to do all that.
