I Need Spring

There is something about renewal and rebirth that fascinates
me and gives me hope for the future. My sister, myself and
Adrienne have spring birthdays. We decided to celebrate my
sister's birthday this year with something special. We don't
know what yet but surely we will think of something. Any
suggestions?

Ellie is going to the doctor today and said she is going to
stay till she gets an MRI. I am trying to be nice.

Today is Ted's birthday. I gave him a knife sharpener but I
don't think he finds it satisfactory. I won't let him sharpen
my kitchen knives because I always cut myself when he does.

I did manage to get my tax information off to Mark. I got
the packages mailed yesterday. One was for Sara. She had
left a lot of baby stuff here and then never re-claimed it.

Ted and I had a very quiet anniversary yesterday. We went
out to lunch to mark our 26th year together. He is doing
a lot better and trying to lose weight. I got a lot of
fruit yesterday to try and help with snacks and replace the
high carb and high fat snacks he loves. I will fix him
the kind of breakfast he prefers this morning. I would be
so delighted if we could have fun like we used to do and
that depends on his health.

Rex hole digging has reached a new high and the first pretty
day will find me in the back yard filling it in and picking
up leaves. The back yard is nasty in the winter with all
the outdoor furniture covered up and the wicker needing to
be spray painted. I love it in the summer with all the plants and fresh paint.

Being informed Ted is "trying to lose weight" became an "Ah ha" moment for me. This answers a couple of questions about why some people are angry with me. Abe was right: can't please all the people all the time.
Anyway, happy and happy belated.

I'm picturing spring here, too. Happy birthday to Ted! One of the big ones, but as we get along the Ladder of Years, they're all big ones. I just saw something about rinsing your fresh berries in a dilute vinegar solution when you get them home so they don't mold up right away like they sometimes do, especially raspberries. I think the old instructions on strawberries was to not wash them too far ahead, so just a quick rinse.

Ted will love a birthday card. He is shy about it but got a chocolate bar instead of a cake because he is cutting down.

Just go to one of your favorite place.Just spend some time together.
Maybe ask her where she want to go and surely you will find a nice suitable place.
Relax have lunch or dinner and glass of wine and enjoy her birthday.
Back to the house.Have dessert and more fellowship.Good luck.

Lunch with drinks or wine is our usual outing. If my cousin comes too, she is too good a Baptist to take a sniff of alcohol but we always feel free to
ask her.

I don't know what special thing you can do for your sis's birthday. My only all-time preference is to go to a really interesting restaurant for a long lunch and include a couple of her special friends. I prefer lunches to dinners because then you can see the scenery -- important around here.

Ellie thinks she needs an MRI? Weird.

Hope Ted's new regime does him some good. How do you get a foodie to wind down? It ain't easy.

We have no scenery but I like lunches too. Preferably with drinks or wine
as I told Fredo. Rex is very busy. He has to keep up with us all the time.
