One Thing Leads to Another

I walked into the house from a dreary winter landscape and decided that I needed some color in my life. I went to the closet and got some red velvet ribbon and made a bow tie for my kitchen rooster. He looked so fetching that the next day I replaced all my throw rugs with fluffy blue ones.
Last night I ordered a blue, olive and purple striped denim bed spread for our bed. I can hardly wait.

My bedroom has always been my retreat until it was invaded by husbands and children. My children and grandchildren love to pile up in the middle of my king sized bed. China laid claim to it when she was a tiny kitten and now that she is an old lady cat, she seldom leaves it. Rex makes many attempts to jump on it but he is severely rebuffed. I am hoping that a sturdy denim bedspread will accommodate us all and that the brilliant color will not soil easily.

I have relinquished my dream of having a feminine bower but the trade off isn't bad. I relish the company,

I know I am early. Are you watching the National Championship game. I can't because it makes me too anxious when O. U. flubs up. I just keep watching the score from time to time.

I've had the same colors in my house for ten years (or more). Maybe I will work on changing them, at least in one or two rooms. Who knows. Maybe one thing will lead to another here too? First will be my bedroom. That is the room that most needs repainting.

I have a throw at the foot of the bed to protect the comforter. Sometimes it works just fine. But the other day, Chewy, who gets diarrhea and doesn't always reach down far enough to clean himself, left markings on 3 chairs, an end table, and the comforter and sheets (he got on before the bed was made). We put him in the sink and I soaked off the debris and washed him. He was not happy. "Tough kitty," I said. I had to wash the bedding, Resolve the chairs, glass spray the end table, and check the floor with a sponge and Clorox wipes for the following two days. Now when I brush him, I check his rear end with a warm, wet paper towel. He hates it.

I need to get rid of my favourite chair. It's wrecking my back. I'm hoping to work up the courage to give it away sometime this year. I already have a nice recliner to replace it.

I love doing things like that... since the puke fest at my place I have invested in a quilt and a new bed spread.

I have a reversible bedspread. It has a floral design on one side and a striped on the other. So, I can be either feminine or masculine, depending on the circumstance. Unfortunately, it has stayed on the floral design since I bought it. But one must be prepared.....just in case!!!
