I have always been fascinated with genetics. Probably because I grew up on a farm where horses and cows were bred selectively for the best traits in the species.
In college, one of my favorite subjects was biology. I did not have the math with which to work genetic problems but I had a great teacher who taught me how to work them out with squares.
I am trying to connect with Randy's article entitled epiphany. We all have genetic differences and no amount of exercise is going to change it. We can and do make the changes that please us like makeup and hair color but I will never be a tall, willowy California girl. Looks should not define self esteem. No one in my family has ever been over five feet, nine inches tall and my ancestors have all been short.
I am saying this to say: Let's be content with what we have. This is not to dis self improvement but to encourage realistic expectations. Appreciate yourself for the talents you have. Recognize that you are unique and valuable. Do what makes you happy.
