Strange Political Poll and Other Stuff

I have always thought if Mit Romney wins the Presidency, that
he will have bought it by the sheer amounts of cash dumped
into his campaign.

Today, I got a call asking me to answer some survey questions
about politics and telling me that if I answered them, I would
receive a free cruise to the Bahamas, except that I would be
responsible for port taxes and tips. I didn't want the cruise
because if we were to take it we would have to fly to Fort
Lauderdale and any time we want to go to the Bahamas, we can
drive to Galveston in the same amount of time. I have no
idea who was offering this and if they were Republicans they
got all the wrong answers. It mystified me.

Today, I have been deeply involved in planting begonias, fertilizing roses and clipping holly. It made me very tired.
I took ten begonias to my neighbor who has given me lots of
flowers and I planted 40 of them. I tried to find portulaca
but they were sold out. She showed me her wax leaf privet and there must have been 50 or 69 butterflies sipping from
the blossoms. It was a beautiful sight.

Holly has these flowing shrubs in her front yard and last week they were just covered with butterflies. It was a beautiful sight.

Right. No such thing as a free lunch. I've been planting flowers too.

You are right about that but isn't it strange they would tie it in with a
political poll.

Never again will I go on a "free cruise". That was the kind my girlfriend took me on and we spent a full day (more than eight hours)at a timeshare. I need to start doing some yard work but I keep waiting for a round tuit.

It isn't worth it to have to listen to a sales pitch when you are supposed to
be having fun.

I always go by the rule that there's "no free lunch". Every come-on holds an ace up its sleeve and zaps you with it after you've signed on. Even just getting trapped for a day listening to their hucksters is enough of a downer to avoid such an invitation. We're on a do-not-call list but some calls still slip through. I love it when Ed gets a Republican survey because he shoots them down without mercy.

I don't know why I get the Republican surveys but I bet they won't call
Ed or me again.

The politicians exempted their calls and so-called surveys from the Do Not Call rules, but now have snuck in this other element of the 'free cruise' which is no doubt a time share presentation scam.

They said a political sponsor was paying for it. Could have been a time
share thing..who knows?

I get the Bahama cruise call sometimes too. I know there's a catch, if not an outright scam, so I never get connected to the crook...or whatever they call the rep who is supposed to arrange the trip. But I do answer the questions, and judging by what I'm asked, it is a republican poll. I am a RINO, so that's OK, because as with you, they get all the "wrong" answers!

I suspect that it was a Republican thing. I delighted in giving the wrong
answers. I am not reluctant to share my views.

Again, I am super happy we don't have a home phone. None of those calls come through on my cell!

Kristy, these people have access to a lot of information. I am always
getting calls from people who want to give me home health care and we get
a lot of catalogs from places that sell aids to the elderly. Some of them
are ridiculous.
