The protest by 250 women was all about legislation that attacks a woman's right to have control of her own body.
The Republicans have had control of the house since 2004 and
have approved thirty anti-abortion measures. This event was
not just about Oklahoma but they cited proposed decriminalizing
domestic violence in Topeka in order to balance their budget.
These steps take women back to the sixties when women had
minority status. The march and protest was sponsored by
the League of Women Voters, Trust Women and the Oklahoma
Coalition for Reproductive Justice.
It seems to me that our legislative body could better occupy
themselves with education, an overhaul of the welfare department and health care. We have an issue with water
rights and other pressing problem. They are pandering to
the tea party mind set and not taking care of business. I
hate to say it, but it is ever thus with politicians.
