Santa is on His Way

I finished the last of my Christmas shopping today by jumping out of bed and being one of the first at Kohls holiday madness sale. I still lack a couple of games for
the little girls but I will have to check with Ellie and
see what she is getting.

We put up the Christmas tree and a garland on the mantle. We can't have the real thing because of allergies and I miss the scent of real trees.

There wasn't much madness going on until about ten, which
was when I came home.

Ted had the Dr. give him some pain medicine and he was
able to do some work outside today. I think he got it for
the sole purpose of being able to paint. It enabled him to
do a lot more than he usually does but I am inclined to think he will pay for it tomorrow.

We had a wetter summer than usual and the foliage is gorgeous. You don't need to take a foliage tour you can
see lots of beauty just in the nieghborhood. The trees are
all red and yellow.

Renee is having her huge garage sale. It is so much work
I started to put some stuff in it but it was easier just
to donate to Habitat for humanity.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

I have resorted to the giving of "cash" these days. That way everyone gets what they want and I don't have to return anything. Do buy the little ones a small toy to go with their money (which I hope their parents are putting in a fund for them). I miss not buying gifts, but decided I was just tooooo old to do it any more. HAVE A GOOD CHIRSTMAN.

You got all our rain! I'm gearing up for Thanksgiving, not Christmas just yet. I AM thinking about getting a present for my grandson, however. Just thinking.

The first few years we lived here, Mr. Troutbend put icicle lights along the edge of the garage, but the last couple of years he just outlined the inside of the front room window with lights, a big cop-out in my book. I've been talking about loaning some decorations to my cousin down the street (she lives 4 miles east) and he seems to have new interest in using the decorations here at home because he doesn't want me to do that.

Santa Claus is coming to town.... We have three trees already up, since we have to leave mid-December for the States. We're gearing up for TWO Thanksgiving feasts. We have some Mexican friends who have adopted the holiday as their own and wouldn't miss all those delicious American dishes at this time of year. Have a great one!

Decorating is such a big job. I need to learn how to do less. You really are ahead of schedule!

It can get out of hand. I still want to put lights on the holly outside.

It doesn't seem like so much when you get ahead of the game. I love
candles in the window.
