Safe

We are safe. Ellie teaches in Moore but she got home ok.
Our schools were going into lock down but Bobby got the
girls home before it happened.

The whole state is in mourning. So far local news puts the
death toll at 5l with l2l injured. They expect to recover
more bodies and more injuries.

Hazel, in our antique club lost her home. She survived by
staying in the bathtub and hunkering down.

We are expecting more bad weather today.

So glad to hear you're safe.

Jenn, Sofi and I are safe as well. No one we know was injured or killed, but so many others were. Death toll reduced to 24, seven of which were children. Double reporting accounts for the inflated numbers at first. The Oklahoma spirit of resilience always shines so bright in dark times like these. So many hundreds have rushed to help.

I'm so glad you and your family are alright.

I saw this first thing this AM but did not post my reply then. Just awfully relieved that you and Ted are ok and that you have power, etc.

Thank's Dottie. Today has been stormy but no disasters.

That was too close for comfort. I am hoping there is some quirk about the lay of the land around your immediate area that will keep the twisters away from your house and Aldi's, too.

We are sort of in a depression and have never been hit. Hope it stays that
way. But we are having a storm cellar next year!!!

Yes, sad and depressing to watch! I have to make a donation today as soon as
the weather clears.

I woke up after Nightly News started yesterday and couldn't believe it. Schools are usually "safe" buildings. Like I said yesterday, I don't know how you do it....

It is so hard. donations are pouring in, little children are bringing their
piggy banks and I can hardly hold back the tears. We have one more day of
these weather conditions.

Thank gawd --- been thinking of you!!!

Thank you for thinking of us. This is sad beyond belief. You will be pleased to know that I am donating to the fund for animals lost in the
storm and rounded up in a dazed condition. There was a horse standing lost
and alone in a devastated stable area.

Your tornadoes made the news here. Stay safe. Hope the bad weather is gone soon.
comment by nittineedles on May 21, 2013 5:04 AM ()
I guess this went world wide. We should have more stable weather tomorrow.
