Gardening

I have been out all morning weeding and looking at my mini
vegetable and herb garden. I have mint, basil, rosemary and
sage, zucchini, tomatoes and yellow squash, all just a few
plants. The zucchini will out do itself producing. I have a
pepper and a cucumber plant. Last year when Fredo and Mike
came to visit we already had fresh squash. With our crazy
weather, we are about a month behind. The pecan trees are
creating a mess, both summer and fall. Since the squirrels
carry them off before they are ready, it is a no win situation.

Ted is cleaning the grout in the guest bathroom and when he
is finished, I will clean the tile and seal it. Nothing I
could do with oxyclean, bleach or dawn got it clean. He is
taking off the top layer with a dremel.

We are so looking forward to good times with Mike and Fredo.
they will be here Monday.

I don't have the energy to garden. My neighbor brings me stuff sometimes -- greens and tomatoes and peppers. I am awed.

Note to t routbend I hope so too. It has been pleasant today.
Note to JJ and Kristy...I use seven dust on my plants to get rid of the
bugs and they are beginning to surface in droves.

Sounds like a good sized garden even with just a few of each variety! We've been having rain; not flooding, just on and off to the point where I can't do much outside. Have a great time with Fredo and Mike.

Fredo and Mike are fun people and like to do the things we like to do. The
garden is small..I have only 3 tomato plants. Tomatoes are so good homegrown.

How fun that they are visiting!!!!!!!! I am sure you will have a wonderful time... Wish I could come crash the party !
This might be a silly question but does yellow squash grow as well as zucchini? If so I need to plant some next year. So far I have lost my strawberry plant... A couple of the tomato plants might make it! We shall see...

I wish you could be here too and we could spoil Skylar. As you know, grand
parents are good at that. Yellow squash is not quite as prolific as zucchini
but I am sure it will do well there.

I hope you have good weather while they are there - not too hot, no tornadoes, etc.

Yellow squash does much better (for me, at least) than zucchini. Not sure why. I think part of the problem is that some variety of bug I have prefers the leaves of zucchini over squash.
