My Reasons

I was just overwhelmed by the speeches of Joe Biden and
Obama at the DNC last night. The reasons that I am voting
for them was brought out so vividly last night. They have
a compassion and concern for social justice that is not shared by the other party. They have Obama care which is sorely
needed. They have supported the military and have empathy for
our soldiers. They have made women's health a reality.

Read Joan's (red impala) post about the high cost of living
and you will see what medicine for cancer cost her. A lot
of the high costs would have been eliminated if she had
been fortunate enough to be under Obama care. As it was, it
wiped out her savings.

I must misunderstand the spewers of hatred on the right. They
are flaunting a Christian flag while doing everything possible
to distort the teaching of Jesus which was love.

Hopefully, Romney will continue to seriously misstep like he did after the Libyan demonstrations. He has a "Joe Biden" mouth, but somehow, that analogy is a bit unfair to Biden. Biden sometimes expresses himself badly while Romney is full of venom and ignorance.

If only "male WASPS" would heed the messages. All they consider is "don't take away my guns or religion".

I just hope that there is enough of us around to make the vision come true.

A good reason.

Now the enthusiasm is bubbling up.

What surprises me is that all the Republicans can talk about is 'get rid of Obamacare.' I think most of the middle class would agree that something needs to be done about our healthcare crisis because it affects us the most, but the Romney camp never mentions anything to relieve it. Say what they will about Obamacare, I received a $364 check from my private health insurance company - returning excess premiums to the consumer rather than putting them in the insurance executives' pockets. This isn't a big thing, but I appreciate that it symbolizes a change.

we desperately need universal health care. My daughter does not have
health insurance because it is so costly and she has suffered from the lack
of it.

I am not a Christian but was raised and indoctrinated to be one. The Christian fundamentalists and their cohorts, the piously right wing would-be Christians, are so far from Jesus' teachings that they resemble the money-changers he threw out of the Temple.

The temper of Christian dogma and teaching has evolved to mean racism, bias, and discrimination ... and they don't see themselves as what they have become. There may be some who don't follow this path, but they are not standing up to their fellow Christians. I,too, was raised a Christian. It was a different faith when I had it, and, in any case, I left it because it was male dominated and discriminated against women. I was 16.

If you talk the talk, you should walk the walk. I haven't seen much of
that.

I too was profoundly moved by all the speeches and can only hope, since this was an event carried by all the major stations, including Fox News, that the message and the contrast were clear. There was also a sharp contrast in the enthusiasm of supporters. The love for Obama and Biden was there.

I thought they gave flawless speeches and the content was even better. I really enjoyed it.
