Chaos at Home

I really have been busy with a turkey dinner for Bobby, Ellie
and children and then Ted's brother and his wife on Tuesday.
Mike came early and blew in the insulation this morning before
Ted had to go to his l0:30 appointment at the V.A. Mike got
here this morning before seven a.m. so it took some doing.

I had to order ground cover for my new flowerbed since it
turned out to be a place for concrete disposal and after l8
bags of top soil is just barely adequate to support the
ground cover. I ordered Ajuga and it has a pretty blue flower
in the spring. There was a reason for the white rocks that
were there. I found out the hard way and shudder to think
what it would take to clear the rocks out of Tim and Carolyn's
yard next door. They add new ones each spring so the rocks
are really deep.

I am glad to be back to routine today. Holidays are really
disruptive and I don't enjoy them like I used to. I may
be getting set in my ways in my old age.

Hi, I missed the gist of your solution -- why were the rocks there? xx, T

anymore i would be content to just sit home on a holiday and avoid all the fuss.

Me too. I hate to be so rigid but I like everything to be on an even keel.

I hope Mike did a good job. We are very pleased at church with his work. I'm pleased you contacted him.

We have been so pleased with Mike at both houses. The difference is
noticeable and I appreciate your telling me about him. Good people are
hard to find.

I hope Bobby will get to feeling better, and one of these days have you over for a nice dinner. It's their turn to cook.

There is no prospect of Ellie cooking, but when Bobby feels well, he does
a lot of grilling and we love his steaks. He has a fabulous smoker.

Ajuga is pretty and will grow just about anywhere. I have had that situation, to find out too late why something was the way it was for decades. The house in Indiana has stuff like that.

It was a rude awakening. I had to make a rock garden where there were some
nasty rose bushes and stumps. I guess you learn to adapt to your circumstances when gardening.

When I owned the motel in the 90s, I made "improvements" only to find that the previous owners had it the way it was for a reason. Same with the house. I can see that it was well thought out. The house had been occupied by the family that built it in 1953, There are a few things I wonder about: like why didn't they build stairs outside to the basement. Water, maybe? Your ground cover should to Ok tho. That stuff tends to put roots between rocks to get water.

You need to blog about your motel experience. I have apartment experience
and we could compare notes. My apartment experience was like social work.
